I know that, but usually the water pump is replaced at the same time as the timing belt, might give an idea of water pump age.Originally posted by Lohman446The timing belt is not leaking green fluid...Comment

Unless if it is a Mopar where the ground is your overflow tank.Originally posted by Lohman446If its leaving a stream it is considered a pretty severe leak
A leak tester is easy put some dye in and use whatever the kit tells you to, to see it.Gun: AGD eMag with LvL10

On some engines the water pump is timing belt driven. Not sure on the Focus if it is or not.Originally posted by WaffleBaronI know that, but usually the water pump is replaced at the same time as the timing belt, might give an idea of water pump age."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Supposed to be ready to pick up tomorrow.

I like people who try to do things themselves, and then screw them up. They make me a lot of money

I know it was possibly said in jest, but I couldn't resist.
First, fixing a leak is hardly "modding". It's basic repairs. Very little fun doing basic repairs.Originally posted by Soopa Villain17yea but wheres the fun in modding your car , if other people are doing it for you ?
Second, not everyone is into fixing their own cars.
Third, notice that Bofh said Adult.
With adulthood comes other responsibilities. If after filling all your responsibilities, you have time left over and enjoy devoting your free time to car maintenance, you fix the car yourself.
But if cars aren't your passion and hobby, the only reason a sane adult gets their elbows greasy or risks injesting automotive fluids is because they're too broke to pay someone else.
Think 70$ an hour is a lot for auto repairs? Consider the repair will be done on-time and within the estimate. WHere as your job might take MUCH longer. How much is your time worth?
Consider also the possible costs and risks associated with doing it yourself. Pay 70$ + parts, get the car back quickly. Final cost: 70$ + parts.
Pay for parts, do it yourself, take a long time, not get to the job interview. Final cost: parts + $$$$$$$$$.
Cheaper to get someone else to do it.Comment

i was refering to the post where he said he wanted to chip , exhaust and svt kit the car. im an adult , not a good payed one so i do all my work myself unless i absolutly cannot do it. and even if doing work myself takes more time , im still saving money.

First off, the mods were a joke. when i tipe liek u.. im joking LOL!1 There was a thread a few days ago where someone was asking about modding a Focus, and I (with others) was advising him against it strongly.Originally posted by Soopa Villain17i was refering to the post where he said he wanted to chip , exhaust and svt kit the car. im an adult , not a good payed one so i do all my work myself unless i absolutly cannot do it. and even if doing work myself takes more time , im still saving money.
Second, "im an adult, not a good payed one" is the funniest thing I've read all week.
As for the car, the issue isn't the radiator. Its the cooling system. Gonna cost north of 500 after labor.
I need to find a local shop.
God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.Comment

? Why don't you get a written estimate, scan it, and e-mail it to me at [email protected] just so I can look for kicks?Originally posted by SCpoloRickerFirst off, the mods were a joke. when i tipe liek u.. im joking LOL!1 There was a thread a few days ago where someone was asking about modding a Focus, and I (with others) was advising him against it strongly.

Dude, I needed that yesterday.
I called a few local dealerships, and Goodyear was under them on pretty much everything.
So I'm getting abused, just not quite as badly as I could be.God....I guess I was probably returning videotapes.Comment
