      I see you're new here.
I hope you didn't come here expecting a helpful response.

I would help, but everything about NASCAR makes me want to drive nails through my eyes.

in other words, no. its not a sport. its just people driving around in a long, long, looooong circle a hundred + times.
no physical strength, talent, skill, or anything of the like is needed. its basically all about engine power in the car that determines the fastest vehicle. (but the pit crew should be a whole seperate sport in itself, they actually need skill down there)

basically, i hate nascar. that is all
Although I don't like watching NASCAR, what you said is entirely false.

Basing off what you just typed, you're saying that you could hop in a NASCAR race car and compete with the pros on the track.

And you don't need skill or talent?

        You're an idiot.

it does take physical strength, talent and skill. I would love to see you even try to go a full race and not be dead tired. There is also more skill and talent involved in nascar and racing period that most other "sports".

I just want this stuff gone, super low prices

            WOW!!!!

            I watch and enjoy NASCAR.

To say sport is kind of misleading I suppose. I mean are race car drivers participants in a sport, or a contest of speed? Is a contest of speed a sport?

Thats the real question , huh?!?

Now if you had asked were NASCAR drivers athletes then I would have to answer YES w/o question. To have the stamina to turn left all day at 150+ MPH in the sustained heat and constant stress is not for out of shape people.
An untrained person couldn't do it.
Its not to say either that those same drivers could run a quick 50M either....

              Yeh

It requires athleticism to do well, it is competetive, requires skill and strategy. I don't know how one gets a reasonable non-stereotypical argument that it is not.

Yes I do believe that it is a sport.
                  sport n.
                  1.
                  1. Physical activity that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively.
                  2. A particular form of this activity.
                  2. An activity involving physical exertion and skill that is governed by a set of rules or customs and often undertaken competitively.
                  3. An active pastime; recreation.

And if you think it takes no physical skill, think again. Try driving that fast, that close to other cars. Your reaction times have to be VERY quick. You have to know what you're doing and be a great driver or you'll end up dead. Its not as easy as it looks. (not that I race nascar or anything, but I'll bet you anything its more talent than just 'driving around in circles')

Yea, it's a sport.. is it a sport that I can watch? No... all car racing is utterly retarded. I cant stand racing games, racing shows, anything. Who really wants to watch people drive around in circles?

                        Um, 36 years ago.

20 years ago, there was there this... among a long list of other cars and makes that were in Group B.

back on topic, yeah, I think NASCAR is a sport, as much as baseball is.

Yes. It is physical (uses a lot of strength) and takes a lot of skill....even thought I hate it.
