No, Im not and If you think driving is a sport you are stupid yes it takes skill, yes its hot, yes you are in danger. But you don't run, jump, throw, kick, or hit anything so its not a sport its a race.

you dont get slammed with g forces at 200 mph. perioid, they dont take off fast, they take off nice and slow and accelerate. Now funny car racing, or drag racing, you do experience g-forces because your getting slammed when you hit the gas.

nascar drivers do not get slammed, because they excellerate slowly at the start of the race they are already moving...... actually watch a race before posting, whoever was talking about g-forces.

nascar is not a sport. period. if it was, then typing would be a sport.

If Nascar is a sport then I am more of a professional driver then all the Nascar drivers. I turn right.

There is an incredible amount of stratagy and planning required, as well as on the fly changes in stratagy between drivers and their crews. It isn't as simple as just driving in a circle, you have variables like your tire pressure and temperature, drag, lift, attack angle (entrance and exit angles), etc. etc. etc. to take into account on the fly.

                So, yeah.

Fat_teddy, I dont know what youve been smoking, but there are plenty of rednecks in California. They may not be in LA, but theyre there. Also, the skill required to make on the fly changes and so forth used to take a great deal of understanding of cars on the drivers part to be able to communicate in a very short amount of time with the pit crew what exactly the problem with the car was. Nowadays, a computer tells them exactly whats going on, and the driver simply sits in a car for a couple hours turning left. At most, they might say "oh noes, teh car feels loose" or something along that line. Add in a few duhs and a hickish hyuck for authenticity, should you feel it necessary.

Well, there has to be a reason why those drivers stay in such great shape.

Then again, I don't watch NASCAR, i watch the LeManns and stuff, where they are driving for an extremely long period of time.

                              I don't think it's a sport.

Like golf, billiards, etc., it takes a great deal of skill, but anyone w/ training & practice could do it.

Bike racing, however, is a sport.
