My understanding is one suppressor = one tax stamp. It doesn't matter if you use it one two different weapons.

form 4's require model and sn# and the approved tax stamp is not transferable with ownership either... if you sell it the new owner requires another 200 bucks, ATF background check and signature of a CLEO

form 4's are required with any select-fire, short barreled rifle, short barreled or under 28" OAL shotgun, silenced anything, or "other destructive device".

and each of them mods on the same firearm [say you have a silenced navy trigger group MP-5SD for instance] requires a form 4 for each feature listed above [aka the MP-5SD would require three seperate tax stamps cause its select fire, short barreled and silenced]

this is as I understand it from my friends who own multiple silenced and select fire toys...

                    Kind of on the topic?

I was at Fletcher Arms yesterday and saw this bad boy sitting in the case. Except it was a stub nose.

The guy behind the counter showed me a fresh .44 cartridge fits completly in a empty .500

I would have coughed up the dough for that but I purchased my Springfield 1911 USGI 45 last month. Still a sweet pistol but I want it to go BOOM! it gets my needs handled now that when I hunt I carry a pistol for personal protection living in WI, after what happened to our hunting party last year. We were on public land about a good 100 yards off the property line and another land owner was screaming at my buddy to get off his land. Long story short local police and DNR where involved he ended up going to jail.

BTW nice rigs my Battlalion switched over to A4's before we got activated about 2 years ago my first thought's "OHHH more toys"

Me after cleaning my deer slayer Savage 30-06 - gramps old rifle.

Question would a AK be good for a brush gun for hunting whitetail?

No, in my opinion an AK is not a good whitetail brush gun. I would look into browning or remington as they both offer hunting specific bore sizes and bolt action aswell as pump versions. I discourage semi auto usage because the capability is more of a luxury and can sacrifice accuracy.

Look into a Browning A-bolt series. Fit yourself with a decent scope and you're set.

                          Hmm, needs a bipod

Question would a AK be good for a brush gun for hunting whitetail?
In a pich I guess it could do, but wouldn't be first choice of a hunting rifle. But at least if you miss on the first shot, you are ready for a follow up with a nice 100 round drum in place!

Well, I got to work on my SAM7 AK this weekend and unfortunately, i'm not done...i'm going to need a dremel to finish some fitting on the pistol grip. I never changed the furniture on an AK before and I don't think I ever want to again! What a pain! I didn't have a vice grip hold the handguard while I twist the gas tube out, instead I had to use the Vulcan Death Grip on it. The thing was just assembled on May 15th at Arsenal also, and everything was certainly tightened down and quite snug!!! Even the release lever for the gas tube seemed like it was welded in place. I don't care for the BUlgarian/NATO buttstock either (never used an AK with a buttstock before!) so it has to go bye-bye also in favor of a fixed mini-skeleton stock. Pics will be delayed....

As far as the tax stamps, I guess I will just cross taht bridge when I get to it. I'm definitely NOT paying double tax stamps on it though. If anything I would just get teh stamp for the 92FS. It probably wouldn't be as effective on the Storm anyway with the higher muzzle velocity.
