Let's see..........

I've had my tongue pierced twice
each nipple pierced twice
and a PA(if you don't know, don't ask)that the hole is still open, but I won't normally wear anything in.

That was all before going into the Army, currently I don't have any, but I'm considering getting my tongue, nipples, and maybe eyebrow and/or septum done sometime.

I think that piercings on the right person look great. It's like any other accessory, it all depends on the wearer.

I just like to try new things.........the PA, honestly I was bored one day, and my girlfriend at the time(now my wife) dared me to.

For women to have subtle, small studs/diamonds as earings looks good, anything more is not.

For men to have any piercings, unless you are a Pirate, just looks like you want to be made fun of......and I do.

I find it laughingly ironic, that people who get multiple all over piercings to be "different or unique or to draw attention to themselves", get all upset when I loudly point out that they ARE different, like a clown!

Chaos and I got into this same discussion back in the old AO days. He, then, was fairly Goth looking. You know, black everything. I said people that dress up as clowns, shouldn't get upset when others laugh at them. He said we are all individuals, and others should respect that. Let's just say we came to a mutual agreement; that I wouldn't laugh at HIM, if we ever met!

1. over the course of my life i've had well over 20 piercings, currently i have 2 lobe, 2 cartilage, tongue, both nipples and a HUGE navel ring (toss in some tattoos and scarification work, and you've got me)

2. to the best of my knowledge, no, i have never heard reliable info that someone passed away as a direct result of piercings.

3. many religions (Judeo-Christian and otherwise) teach/believe it is a sin to defame the human body (cut, pierce, color,...). in most cases it is not a ban on piercings per se, it is more of a "the creator made us the way he/she wanted, and we shouldn't alter that". side note, in ancient Egypt, when a mummy was being preserved, an unskilled man was recruited to make the cuts into the body to remove organs because after his task was done, others around him would stone him for the sin he just committed by defiling a corpse.

4. if i didn't like how they looked i wouldn't have them. not many things in this world are sexier than an adorable woman with a properly sized and place piercing.

5. i got them all because i liked how they looked, or they served a functional purpose

6. aside from eye lids i can't think of anything specifically that i would be 100% opposed to getting done, my job makes having any facial mods difficult, but i am always open to new experiences

No. If you check out the place you are planning on using and make sure that it's clean, they don't recycle neddles and you take care of your piercing you shouldn't have any problems. I suggest that you go to a place that only does piercings.

3. Can any bible ppl tell me why according to the bible it is wrong?

It's not wrong.

4. How many of you actually think of piercings as attractive? Also on females!

Depending on what was pierced and how many times it can be either attactive or not.

5. If you have one, why did you get it?

Shock value, why else?

6. Would you ever get something pierced? If so, what?

If I was to do it again I think I would go for the tongue next.

I should point out that I no longer have my rings in, my GF had a problem with them and with my line of work I was always catching them on things, which really hurts not to mention get shot there would have really hurt if it had of ever happened.

Another suggestion for those that are thinking about it. Don't get anything done that can't be easily undone or hiden. Looks are a big thing in the real world.

I agree many people do things that they feel is cool, or the thing to do-------kinda like owning an Angel

Without thinking about what the consequences on their day to day life is. Personally I can do whatever I want to my body for the next 3 years or so while I'm in school and don't have to work. All the piercings can come out if I choose and most will heal with little to no scarring. My tattoos are far more permement and while I only have 10 hours right now, I plan for many more, but I don't plan on having anything done that will show in a t-shirt.

BTW-------the actual piercing for the PA wasn't that painful, I thought my nipples were worse, but the prep work sucked.

Man can I atest to the pain involve in the nipple piercings. The right hurt alot but the left one had me almost standing in the chair. Once it's done though the pain is pretty much over. There is a dull ache for a little while but the sharp pain is gone. well it was for me anyways.

I only have six piercings in right now.
Have been pierced a total of eight times.

First was three on Mr. Happy.
Then my nipples both done straight to ten gauge.
Then two in the upper cartilage of my left ear.

Took two out from mr. happy and just put a new
one in about two weeks ago.
I will be putting another three in there soon.

As to why I have them I got the first three because
I liked the way it looked, the rest I was just bored.

1. I've done my left ear, my right eyebrow, my right nostril, and my left nipple. Only one I still have is the left ear, might do the right nostril again. Did all of them myself with safety pins, never had any problems because I knew what I was doing. Do your homework before you start poking pins through yourself.
2. I'm sure a couple freak accidents have happened in history, but I sure as hell wouldn't be worried about death unless you're piercing your wrists or your jugular.
3. My girlfriend is really catholic, she has 2 in each ear and her labret (I don't like the labret piercing) and she's never said anything about it.
4. Beats me, some can look attractive on girls. Some just look badass.
5. Boredom, shock value...

I think that about covers it. No, I'll never pierce anything below my neck.

beam - No, it's not about convincing my parents. I was just curious. I've come to a point where i am going to respect my parents and not do it. But that doesn't mean that it died to me, I still want to and I will from time to time bring it up with my parents. I think the shock value just about blew them away and so they will eventually get used to the idea. And might say ok.

Temo Vryce- yeah, but not something that anyone has ever seen . But I did it for the WRONG reasons and I took it out a long time ago...

in case anyone is asking... I'm 23 in on the 20th of feb. And I know my parents can't really stop me, but fact of the matter is I respect my parents and as long as they won't have it, I won't do it.
According to the reasearch my parents did piercings are deadly and wear on your health, it's satanic and you are worshiping satan with piercings. I just wanted to hear ONE of you say that... buuuutttttt it didn't happen.

i just have 1 in my left ear. nothing special, but i think it looks nice.

i just don't like the people that get like 30 piercings and do it to be "different", and then hang out with 20 other people with the same thing.

Your parents are sayig that in hopes that you won't get it done because you may regret it. Then again you may not. I respect you for honouring your parents wishs. That isn't something thats easy to do when you get to your age. THe best thing you can honestly do is ask your parents premission to do research on the subject so that you and they get the truth about. Posting a forum like this is a good start, but what you should really do is visit some piercing place and get some information fomr them. Another good place to go would be your local hospital and talk with them about it. Find out how many infected piercings they normally receive? I live in Canada so for me I would talkn to Health Canada, I don't know the American equivalent. At first don't try and convince them to let you have a piercing, try and show them the truth about them. Then after that has settled then you can convince them. Personally I just moved out on my own. That was my fathers #1 rule.

I hope that you are able to show them the truth about piercings, and that I have helped you in some way.
