Mechanic Sucked Into Boeing 737 Engine in Texas

Monday, January 16, 2006; Posted: 5:55 p.m. EST (22:55 GMT) (CNN) -- A mechanic standing near a Boeing 737 at El Paso International Airport in Texas was sucked into one of the engines and killed Monday, officials said.

What a silly way to die.

DOnt you think that it is not death that scares you but the way you are gonna die?

    Only in Texas.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves. 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

If I was going to go...that is one of the top ten ways I'd like to go. Right next to a massive rampage through a major city in a backhoe.

its possible to get old WWII tanks if you look hard enough, or you could just steal one like those guys in Italy/California

Sure if you have the money you could buy a de-militarized tank.

yea, but think how much action you will get if you survive being sucked into a jet turbine. It would be the ultimate action story. Too bad the 737 doesnt have a protective debris fan or bars. But, apparently it is not un common to survive a turbine sucking, sucks to be that guy.

Ive heard many stories of people getting sucked into military jets, luckilly most of the carrier based jets have a protective set of bars for foreign debris. My buddy who was a launch man told me a story of his supervisor actually getting sucked in, he was checking the catapult and stood up in the wrong place, foomp. Helmet and clothing go through, comes out in only his underwear..
