    yeah well..

    i dont get big tools

i have a dremmel, a few hand saws, and a handheld drill.

now what yuo have to watch out for are the things that i make

i built a small catapult (actually an onager, but w/e) and it was going a good 200 yards with a golf ball at 3 feet tall. i built a 6 foot tall one next (this was earlier this summer) and i rigged it up, spent about 3 hours winding the thing, about 2 minutes pulling it back, locking it, and when i let it go, not only did it launch the melon about (an estimated) 402.197 yards off into some unknown place (oops..) but it broke the top beam and flipped it over and rolled about 3 times down my driveway across the street and into my neighbors yard.

it was interesting. i wish i had taken a picture of it before it got destroyed

Can I come over so I can actually use the 2-1/4 drill bit I have? For some reason it won't fit in my 18v cordless drill.

LOL! Sure, just come on over! We've got some monster bits we've picked up over the years at different auctions. Haven't really found many uses for them, yet...

Today was create a tool day.
First off a head bolt from a 4.2 fits perfectly into the drain/fill plugs on an NV3500 and I didn't feel like waiting a week to order the correct socket. See Japanese sockets serve a purpose. Not pictures is the 8mm square drive socket I made from a japanese extension since no one could get the actual socket for at least a week.

Then it came time to remove this damn ball stud which GM in their infinate wisdom decided to make press in instead of screw in.

So with the help of my "welding nigga" (see him affixed to the top of my mig welder)

we came up with this nifty attachment for my slap hammer that allowed me to attach my puller to it.

As you can see he was too lazy to attach the gas cylinder so his welds look horrible but have held up.

A little help from the vice grips, gods gift to man (the acytlyne torch), and my puller creation that damn thing came out.

Yay for making tools! I've made plenty of different one-off pullers/clamps/wrenches... most of them are still laying around, I just don't remember what they were for now!

            LOL

I love using the plasma cutter, it is so devastatingly powerfull....

Working at a auto repair shop weilds many of the tools you are all discussing, but we seem to value our lives...So no interesting stories...Well, maybe a few....

Who has used a car hoist to crush a pop can,...? When full?...How about nearly 10 pop cans?...

(starts imagining mentos, coke, and car hoist crushing abilities...Maybe an acetylene torch or two...)

I'm surprised the back corner of my shop hasn't blown up yet. Paletes worth of fertiziler, Feul cabinet, Herbacides, and assorteed paintcans all right next to my welder.

That's not a tool. That's what happens when you expose a microwave to the ooze.

                            ouch.

Had a fire inspection the other day. Fail on having only one exit sign working and not having a fire extingisher by my pallets of of fertillizer I wanted to look at him and say "Are you stupid" If those pallets decided to go you wouldn't need a fire extingisher more like a crane and a dumpster.

The fertillizer will be gone as soon as the heat lets up anyways.

Well I was cleaning up around the shop today and I found (this sounds funny but this is what it is) a industrial strength vibrator for a V-box salter. still looks like its in good condition. When I plugged it in a truck the whole box shook. I wonder what I can do with this?

LOL I just thought of something duct tape it to a hopper. My new revy.

when i was looking for a pneumatic cylinder on grainger for my robotics team, all we could find for most of the searches were pneumatic industrial strength vibrators. and this is among a group of teenagers...

We found that seatbelts work wonders for opening non-twist off's.

                                as wrong as that sound...
