I think everyone understands that sony takes a hit on the consoles and turns black with software and accessories... But do you hosestly think sony can't handle the demand for PS3 consoles?

here are two points to consider...

China and Japan have a limitless supply of the worlds most valuable resource... SLAVE LABOR. The US has 300,000,000 people while asia has nearly 4,000,000,000. 'nuff said there.

And furthermore, if there were truely a short supply of PS3, and sony couldn't produce them fast enough... they would retail for more right from the get go. Sony wouldn't have to "take a hit" as the gaming market has consistently shown it will pay top dollar for something while it's "new" then as with any other supply and demand item, price will drop as sony can get more consoles on the market. Azns are smart and sony knows exactly wtf it's doing.

Honestly, I don't understand the hoopla with the whole gaming business. I agree that the PS3 is priced significantly higher than previous consoles sold before. But let's compare the quality(look and sound) of the games. There's no denying that the next-gen consoles really push it a bar higher when it comes to the visuals and sounds of a game.

Look how much PC gamers are willing to invest in their gaming rig. You'd have to pick up a $500 video card just to push things to the limit...and that doesn't even get you to the point of being able to play a game! You still need to add the rest of the parts for a complete gaming rig. Why don't people raise a ruckus for that?

Then you see companies like Microsoft and Sony push out consoles that can play high quality games right out of the box for $500 or $600 and people get upset?! These consoles also play the latest HD-DVDs and Blu Ray disks for true HD content. I think people have latched onto the bandwagon when it comes to bashing Microsoft or Sony. Why? Cause it's simple...they are good at making money. People always want more but are unwilling to pay more for them? Come on people...seriously. Heck, people pay up to $500 for a cell phone! For what?! So they can talk and txt msg other people?! Don't you think that's a high price to pay for what it does?

Yep! Which is the same reason why I haven't played a PC game for at least 2 years. Trying to stay on top of PC gaming is just way out of control. Maybe when I used to play games 8+ hours a day it'd be worth it. But when you only play about 1-2 hours every other day, that $500 or so bucks is easier to deal with. Not to mention the comfort of sitting in your comfortable couch with your legs kicked up, playing on your widescreen tv. :)
