AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Edit: I'm sorry, guys. It's been a rough couple of days; I traveled for well over 14 hours yesterday, had my wisdom teeth poked at today, and had my ex being kind of stalkerish. I'm angry, witchy, snarky, and extremely unhappy-- if I snap at you, I'm sorry; if I say anything mean, I'm also sorry.
Yeah, 'cause that wasn't racist. Even if you are caucasian (weird FF says that's misspelled) that was still a racist comment. What does you being around Asians have to do with anything? Other than you being stereotypical. I'm friends with primarily Asians, I don't go around saying white people are stupid. That was just a dumb post.
Thank you. And Im not cynical, Fishy, Im a realist. Also most certainly not racist. As a matter of fact I have friends of many colors. I was just pointing out that MOST people like to be around those that share similar belief and value systems. And many races segregate themselves into neighborhoods of mostly their national heritage. Hence places like Chinatown or Little Havanna. Its not because they hate other races, its because they are most comfortable around people that naturally understand their core values like religion. Segregation isnt racism unless it is motivated by hatred.
Hmmm... I'm going to go ahead and reiterate that "seperate but equal" did not work. Then I'm going to look at the historical problems in countries that celebrated seperate holidays and rather than delighted in there differences took offense if slighted, and most certainly did not meld together.
Yugoslovia, Rwanda, South Africa
Yeh, sounds like a good idea to me. Lets all seperate individually, and add to our differences rather than being the great melting pot.

But someday we will all "melt together", with no cultural diversity. There has to be a happy middle ground in there somewhere.

I don't think the problem is "melting together..." I think we need to figure out how to be okay with other people being different. Most of the problems in Africa are caused by these fake boundaries imposed when colonies took over the continent. We need to stop hating each other for being not the same, and I think America needs it just as much as any other country. Look at all the problems we have between red states and blue states. I'm not saying we should all be one or the other, but we should at least pretend to respect each other.

These differences, that we insist on making up (Kwanza for instance is not some historical African holiday, its made as a "black alternative" to the "white X-mas). Why is X-mas white?
The point is: if we chose not to embrace each other for who we are and insist on making lines that divide us, we are going to have problems.

.....
Because Santa is white, obviously.
I've never met anyone who celebrated kwanza. Although Tallmadge only had one black kid in our graduating class. Seems like just another event to make a hoopla about and then complain about discrimination when nobody cares. Seems kinda pointless.
/psst... hey Trop, if white males are so stupid hows-a-come dey get paid more than white women?
