What music software does everyone use?

    I need something new

Winamp is miserably failing me for some reason. It will play some but not all MP3's
I've never used a program to catalog my mp3's (ie itunes or the like) but tried WMP11 and HATE IT. It's loaded with flashy stuff but I'm clueless on how to use most of it AND I refuse to have "ugre" on the screen....EVER. I can't customize WMP so it's not a viable option.

I really just want to make a playlist without having to do it on my Creative!

itunes is awesome. it's really easy to use, i have over 5,500 songs on my comp, i've never had any problems where itunes won't play them. and playlists are really easy to make.

I started using itunes when I bought my ipod. I'm basicly stuck with it; It's really easy to use. Also, it organizes all my files, etc. I've got the system down.
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

itunes sucks still (though they have fixed a lot of their problems), winamp is decent to use, foobar2000 is best.

/foobar2000 has to be tinkered with for a while
        //it uses less resources
///it plays mp3, wav, ogg, FLAC, wma, and all that jazz
////once you finish writing the code for the skin and plugins you are good to go.

M:trip... it came with my M:robe. Itunes is terrible I agree. Their selection leaves much to be desired. No Zeppelin and they're missing a lot of other classic rock as well.

I've been using WinAmp for 8+ years and I have NEVER had a problem, I suspect its user error here.

Yeah I think so too, only I can't figure out what I may have done. I rip all my own mp3's but winamp won't play em. It causes the CPU fan to rev up and everything locks until I shut down winamp alt+ctrl+del style. I'm trying to figure the problem out as I seem to be having issues with WMP too. Certain mp3's get marked with and "error" tag and do not get added to the library.

I'll keep playing with it. Usually it ends up being a codec or something...

btw I've had winamp for that long too...and that's why this is frustrating me.

Itunes. I used to be anti. However, after a while, it just grew on me.

unfortunately, he appears to be using the inferior operating system.

ah yes, well I use what I'm used to. Unfortunately I have a uncle that works as a software engineer who is BIG time mac. We love to discuss differences between the two but he himself says "I buy a new mac every 3 years, cause that's how long the last 3 have lasted"

And I still have my good old 486 with a monochrome screen. OS or not the hardware from a mac standpoint is less then satisfactory. And from what I understand vista will look just like the mac OS so it's all good. Gotta love them MS think tanks, they really have the copy cat thing figured out huh?
