Some young guy, probably 20yrs old, who cant run a register to save his life, isn't smart enough to put the "SOLD OUT" Sign on the movie header (like they USUALLY do at this theater) I was pissed.

    He was like "Uhh, sorry?" All nervous like, i continued my rampage by telling everyone in the line, and outside that 300 was sold out, turn around now and dont patronize this *expletive* movie theater.

        Anyone who went into this movie expecting historical accuracy is really smart.

            Ive seen it twice and it was amazing. Anyone going to see it expecting a "historical" movie will be disappointed. Its just Frank Miller's genius at its best. Its a movie based on a comic, based on a book(The Hot Gates), based on a historical event. Its just visually stunning. The fight scenes are friggin awesome! So ready your breakfast and eat hardy, for tonight we dine in hell!

              It was good but not great. I would have preferred something less Hollywood-fied. Still a good action flik though.

                    yeah. alot of the lines are straight out of the book, but the book just seemed so lifeless and void of emotion. Plus, there are alot of scenes that are added in the movie that actually make it better.

                      movie was quite good. like said before, anyone expecting real historical accuracy is an idiot....pretty clear by the previews that historical accuracy was not at the fore front of the directors/producers/writers intentions.

                        You can sum this movie up in one statement.

                        It's a really bad movie with some a ton of really awesome fight scenes.

                          The Persian first used elephants against "Greeks" at Guagamela. However, the point of several others is well-taken. It's not meant to be historically accurate, so holding it to any standard for accuracy is an exercise in futility.

                            /except that it was just a "bad" movie since the actors still played their roles really well
                            //and the roles were very 1 dimensional
                            ///and they totally would have gotten rained on by arrows the whole time
                            ////otherwise awesome movie

                              I'm a big history nut and so I got really excited to see a movie about Thermopylae. But the mythical crap was distracting. I almost could stand the little hunchback guy and the giant, but the huge fat executioner with the crab claws for hands... cmon. And yea, the Persians didn't use elephants or rhinos at Thermopylae. Good fight scenes and everything though. Special effects were great. And it was of course predictable if you know the history of the battle. I wouldn't say a bad movie, just not terrific either. Maybe like 50-50.

                                of course you'll be sorely disappointed if you go into an obviously historical fiction expecting a documentary. The mythical crap wasn't disappointing to me since I expected from the beginning a complete fantasy interpretation of the battle of Thermopylae. 300 is a movie based off a comic based off a movie loosely based off a historical event after all....

                                edit: my bad it wasn't a book that 300 the comic was based off of, it was a movie
