Senior Prom- Who didn't go?

So my senior prom was tonight and after a couple weeks of debating I decided not to go. Its just not my thing seemed like a waste of money..why do I want to PAY to be in a room full of people I don't like and listen to horrible music? Also the fact that most my friends either are not in highschool or go to other schools and the friends I do have at my school didn't go also played a factor.

Anyway...I think I made the right choice after hearing that it was pretty bad..

But all last week I was constantly hearing "your gonna regret not going " blah..

So how many of you did not go to your senior prom? Do you regret it now?

I really don't see myself regretting it...no reason to really, if I wanted to go I would have just gone..simple enough..

I'm not sure im going to go, but I probably will. Some of my friends and I are trying to convinve the SGA(student gov't association) to have a field party. That would be way better I think.

I went. Got stuck with someone I really didnt want to go with. But went anyway because I was being a "nice guy". It was a pretty boring night to tell you the truth.

I didn't go to mine...

my lame-azz excuse is that my father passed away in February (of 1979), and I was still feeling blah when prom time came around. Bottom line is I should have went. Life has to go on...

Get yourself a girl, and go to your proms!

They check everyone with feild sobriety tests before entrance, as well as checking for containers.

I was a prom king candidate so I had to freakin go... showed up about 10 minutes before they announced the winner, and then left promptly. I guess afterwards all the candidates were supposed to dance with each other, but I was already long gone. I also eluded the newspaper picture showing all the candidates.

Prom is LAME!

Sounds like I won't miss anything if I don't go, but it'll be grad prom for me. I don't plan to go either unless I can find a girl to go with. Sounds like I won't be missing much though, hopefully.

Heh, mine's coming up this year. I'm going. It's not the sort of thing I'd want to miss, because even if it sucks, it's still my prom(Actually, we call it Ball. Prom is for Juniors). I've been to prom(for juniors) twice before.

The first time, I was a sophomore, with my then-girlfriend, and other than that a few things just weren't working right between us, it went well and I had a pretty good time.

Last year, I took a "friend" who I wasn't that great of friends with, because she was a senior and wanted to go(this is for juniors, remember), and I hadn't asked anyone else yet, and didn't have anyone particular in mind. Prom turned out to be pretty lame, partly because our school was trying out a new format for the first time, and partly because she wasn't really that close a friend, and we didn't have much to talk about, ie. some awkward moments.

This year, my number one goal for Ball is to ask someone that I'll have a good time with (and I mean that in a completely non-sexual way). I've actually got someone in mind, who doesn't go to our school(so almost certainly won't be asked by someone else), and she's smart, outgoing, and at one point, we had some minor chemistry going on, although that's long past. We're friends, call each other every once in awhile. I think the only thing I could wish for instead would be to have a girlfriend to take, but alas...
you know you play this game too much when the neighbors stop fixing their broken windows...

i didnt go, would of cost a minimum of $150 plus the cost of food and ride if i got them. so even if i had the most perfect date i still wouldnt of went because im not paying that much just to be bored and dressed nice for a night....

family members and friends and friends of friends have weddings for that sort of stuff... and its free with booze

Sounds like all of your proms sucked...ours was on top of one of the tallest buildings in San Francisco....pretty awesome and fun if you ask me but I went with a girl I liked and had an awesome time afterwards also so I guess that also helped

I did not go either. I covered some other kids' shifts at work (days before and after) and worked my normal shifts too. I made a ton'o'cash, as all four shifts that I worked that weekend were overtime. Not going to prom was probably the best thing that could have happened to me, economically speaking.

All my friends that went said that it was awful, and also not worth the price.
