<.< i don't dance, i hate popular music, i despise dressing up, in fact i despise any general semblance of formality in clothing, and i don't like wasting money on trivial social gatherings with a bunch of people i don't really care to be around anyway.

but my girlfriend got really upset and cried last year because i didn't ask her to my junior prom, so i pretty much have to go this year. she already bought a prom dress. this is going to be the most miserable waste of money and time i have ever partaken in.

on a side note, the phrase my housemaster used was rather humorous, "we're off like a prom dress".

I feel your pain...those are some of the same reason I didn't go..my Jr prom I was suppose to go with my GF and I broke up with her like 2 weeks before or some *poop* like that...preventing me from going to that BS and getting rid of that crazy ho.

But yeah... I probably won't go to any of the four proms I have ahead of me. I might go to one though just so I can bust out the "matador brown" 3 piece tux that I bought from goodwill.

niceee. i've been looking at goodwill lately for some cheesy dress up clothes for days we have track meets...

I didnt go to mine for all the reasons listed (and more).

- It costs WAY to much for what you get (tickets or w/e).
- The music sucks *** (unless you like rap/hip hop).
- I dont dance, at all, ever.
- I see those people every day i was in school.
- Renting a tux is expensive.
- Most of my friends werent going.

.......and so on.

My gf wanted to go to mine (im a lil over a year older than her) and we decided not to go (boy that was a fun situation). Her jr. prom came around and she ended up not going and her prom is coming up and she decided she didnt want to go.

If you cant think of anything better to do with all that money then you need to be shot. Im almost positive you can have your own party with friends for the same amount or less (even better if they pitch in). Prom is a pathetic attempt for lame kids to show off and for the high school to make it seem like they are doing something for you (when in reality your paying for a lame time).

Heck, go paintballing a few nights. lol

its not that im antisocial... its just that with the $250 minimum it would of costed me. i went out and picked up a chick, gave bro $40 for booze, went to a movie, had dinner, bought condoms, gone to a party, went swimming, then hot tub, then used condoms. all of that only cost me $100 at most. was far far less then the cost of prom and far far more entertaining and exhilerating.

Exactly, it has nothign to do with being anti-social. There are just so many far better things you could spend the money on. Prom is just a total waste of money.

i never went to mine. i went to a local club to see bad religion and slam danced all night! better than slow dancing with the other lamo's i graduated with. not to say i had a great date lined up, but she did have big boobs and i like um big!
