AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
You old patriotic SOB! Haven't seen enough action yet? Good luck man, and kill some jihadists for me.
And thank you for serving. My dad is a Navy vet and went active duty in 1991, so I know what the homeside feels like and have a decent idea about the battlefront. Despite anyone's views on the war, for or against, thank you! If you ever visit Akron/Cleveland OH, give me a shout and I'll buy you a cold one.
If you meet a guy going by PFC Ferraro, tell him Brandon said "hi." That kid's like the brother I never had. He even lived in my basement for a year. He's in Iraq right now, but should be in Kuwait in a month or so.
And again, thanks and good luck.
Autocockers are the greatest markers ever made.
~The greatest BACKUP markers to AUTOMAGS!!
Thanks guys! It's good to know that friends like yourselves are out there.
Ryan, Chrissy told me that SHE mowed the lawn....nice try
Kevin, no, regular train-up refresher. A lot has changed in Iraq since I was there last, so the training will reflect that.
Brandon, I may just take you up on that cold one
Combat lanes yesterday.....just goes to show that us old ragged men can still keep up with the young bucks..............but oh lordy am I sore and bruised  It's been high 80's with 110% humidity, and some spectacular thunderstorms to boot (you Kileen and Gatesville guys can attest), after 25" of rain in less than a month. Us California boys don't like this weather at all. Did I mention Texas sucks
Lots of NBC and land nav tomorrow, so it's off to laundry and bed.
Stay Safe and hope everything goes well for you. Im shipping out to the sandbox November 27th for a 15 month tour, hopefully no longer but im hearing more like 18 months.
Hey Army!
You coming out my way again? Things are fairly routine here at the moment. I am forward deployed at the FOB again, but will be back at Anaconda in a few weeks.
If you get here look me up -- I will PM you my DSN number or whatever.
Good to hear you can roll with the young bucks... Damn if this old buck isn't feelin his years some days.
Anyway.. stay safe, stay sane, and thank you sir for your service.
Stay safe Army! Man sometimes I wish you guys could wait for me damn! I've got another 3 years before I go active duty. Hopefully you'll be kickin back stateside way before that!
Good luck.
My Uncle is just retired as a Master Sgt. I believe(Actually a couple of days ago). and my cousin on the other side of the family just got recruited.
My left leg and arm have been blown off by a huge IED while on convoy down route Sabre. The explosion tore off the drivers side of the truck, killing my driver and gunner. I was towed out of the attack zone before medics could get to me, then I was medevaced to the FOB hospital for surgery.
Later that same day, I was killed by a VBIED while going down route Trojan. Then killed by a sniper in the town of Baltah just before the convoy entered the safe zone.
Better in training than IRL! Stay safe as always and watch yer' 6. Sorry, I will be missing the Iraqi tour 2007. I have been banned from the Middle East for now... the Mrs and I are having our first baby together.
Keep in touch and stay away from Burger King at the PX!
