what do you mean by terminal?

does that mean its so high that you reach terminal free fall speed, or that when they finally pick the pieces of you off the rocks, your terminal

        that looks insane

          terminal as in terminal velocity.

Lived in Europe for 3 years. By no means makes me an expert but pretty sure I know what I'm talking about. As far as the others, 2 others to be exact, what did they say that was so wrong? Please educate all of us, we are not worthy

Don't use any of the Rick Steve travel guides during season, as every place mentioned in them will be packed with people who also have the guide...

Often small pension/hotels are way better bang for your buck than the Hostels are... they're cleaner, quieter, and you often get a meal included for a comparable price. If you don't know where to stay, stand at the train station entrance with a map, and look lost, chances are somebody will just walk up to you and ask if you need a room. The tourist offices (in pretty much every trainstation) can also help you find good places to stay, within your budget.

The unlimited use Eurail pass is well worth the extra money if you don't know your schedule... I had 2 months unlimited and it was fantastic... I went from Amsterdam, through Germany, up to Finland, then down to Italy. The Eurail pass also includes ferries in some places! don't overlook this!

Also keep in mind the Eurail pass doesn't include the Czech republic or England... at least it didn't when I used it... make sure your Shengen nation (sp?) visa is also properly documented in your passport.

Don't carry cash. Your ATM/Debit/Credit card will work there, and if your bank is good, you'll always get the best exchange rate, and you get the financial protection of the bank/credit card company...

Don't give money to gypsies... Don't let them walk or stand near you either.

Keep your passport and other important documents in a pouch ON YOUR SKIN. Around the neck pouches are good. Pockets are BAD places to keep anything important.

PACK LIGHT! this gives you opportunity to pick up goodies and more clothes if you need them... during the summer a windbreaker and sweatshirt are probably the only long sleeves you'll need... Convertable cargo pants are advantageous since they're a quick swap, and if you're visiting churches, chances are they won't allow you to wear shorts inside.

Edit Added: Oh yes, and DON'T under any circumstances try to go drink for drink with an Aussie... you WILL lose, badly.

My last piece of advice: BE A TRAVELER, NOT A TOURIST!

                          ?

I'm clueless about the reasoning? Will they attack you? Like the "Don't feed the animals" type of thing at zoo's?

Ha ha. While an Aussie may beat an American, we all know the Czechs dominate all.

Gypsies will steal anything in your pockets, I caught 2 of them trying to unbutton cargo-pant-pockets in Rome and Berlin... their kids are hazardous this way too.

Stereotypical? Possibly. But you can't be too careful when you've got limited resources... gotta plan for the worst.

Your Eurail pass won't get you into the Czech republic, you gotta pay extra.

I'm in negotiations with my girlfriends parents to use their house in spain as a "base" for my trip. Then I could pack all the crap I wanted, bring it to their house in Spain, and just do trips from there to wherever I wanted to go. England for a few days, Germany for a few days, Italy for a few days, etc. Then have a house in between to go back to, relax, and whatnot.

Fred, stay away from tourist traps. That's where the gypises are a problem.

Also, don't dress like an American tourist.
