so what happens if you only need one cup... does the rest go to waist because you cant reseal it?

Some of the gas stations (Kwik Trip aka Kwik Star) in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa sell milk in a bag.

To pour it, you have to buy a reusable plastic container that you put it in, and then you just cut off the top corner. My best friends parents always used to have it, so I was pretty surprised when I learned that the rest of the US didn't have milk-in-a-bag.

We used to have our milk delivered a long time ago, but I'm pretty sure that era is pretty much over in the US.

I have never, in the 18 years of my life, heard of, thought of, seen, or even dreamt of the possibility of milk in a bag.

          I would never drink that.

Our MS's were usually pretty good on that sort of thing, we usually had milk for between 3 and 4 weeks, after that they usually didn't bother with faux-cow 'cause they knew no one would drink it.

Same here. Except I'd still drink it. I mean, it is still milk after all. I'm sure you'd still eat McDonald's fries if they came in a box rather than the paper baggies.

Picture of the reusable carton and how it works?? I have seen where people have said you put the bag in the container.. do you actually put the bag in or pour the contents (milk) into the carton?? If that were the case, it's understandable... costs less for a bag than cartons, which just get thrown out/recycled anyways.

That photo is a little misleading. Every grocery store sells plastic (or ceramic) jugs designed to hold the bags. And the open bag doesn't go bad if you keep it in the fridge.

You put the bag in the container, cut off a corner, and pour. Sometimes there will be a slit on the edge of the container that you can put the cut corner to close it up a bit. Bags are more eco-friendly in todays world since a lot of people throw away their milk jugs rather than recycle. Bagged milk is *probably* a bit cheaper than milk in a jug.
