    Emag Xtreme mill designs/concepts

Well, It's hard for me to put into words what I see in my mind, I do best at drawing. I posted comments in the Xtreme Mill thread, but some of it sounded confusing, so I drew a picture of what I would like the Xtreme to look like. Basically, I liked the second design with the slope/drop/slope design, and I also knew that that the 1st mill design wanted to incorporate an 'X' into the design, as that is kinda the logo of the Xtreme, so here is my design. Let me explain a little bit. The basic design is somewhat similar to the 2nd milling, but with milling also on the module. The milling isn't very deep on the module, maybe 1 mm at most. I also reinforced the back area near the valve by shortening the cut taken out of it. Now the shaded areas that look like they have little dots all over them is a simulated matte finish on the anodizing. I know the dots really don't do it justice, it's the same kind of finish that is on the grey bodies on mags. So picture the plain areas as a shiny anno, and the shaded areas as the matte finished anno.

I also added little things, like the smoother grip design, custom grips, a thumb position inside the trigger guard to hook your thumb in when you hold the battery pack. This is the best way I found to get my ideas/suggestions across.

If others have designs they worked on, feel free to post them here

Thats pretty sick man... but why are all the concepts just coming with a regular vert-feed tube? Can they make the hole angel threaded or something in order to give people a few more options?>

i love it, but what about the battery. you have what looks like a round pack. i believe tom said that the extreme would have the same battery pack as the regular emag. i would like to see what you can come up with for the battery. i love your design.

I think that is a incredibly sweet man and this is a great thread maybe if we get enough concept art tom would consider a concept mill contest....hint hint..

Man you can draw! I have NO artistic ability at all. I really like the design too.

I wish I had the cash for an Xtreem. I would love to use that concept as an excuse to buy a 5-axis table for one of the VMCs.

That is vvvery sweet looking Dave!!! Just imagine how sweet that would look if the shaded area was black and the other(lighter area)was chrome!! We all know how nice a black/chrome combo looks. Or keep the shaded part black and have the light part blue or red, that would look sooo awsome! You could have some really nice two color schemes with that design. Great job Dave

That looks sooo **lets not go there** SWEEEEEEEEET.

Tom should definitely take a look at it because it looks so sweet.

Yes it looks good, but the chances are it won't happen. The big reason is that the coolest part of the design, the "x" over the breech, would be removable and it only works with the vert feed. If you replaced the breach with a warp breach suddenly the flowing lines he worked so hard to create disapear. This is why in the first two milled extremes the breach isn't milled at all. The "x" is cool but it has to be moved back on the the rear part of the body. Everyone should remember that the breech in all likely hood won't be milled at all.

I very much like that "X" Idea. I would especially love to see the darker areas in a rough stipple finish. Brent Jackson, PFB.

That is sooooo sweeet... I definately like the flowing rippely effect.

And I don't think that the X design would only work on vert modular feeds. Its just that the X would only be on one side of the warp body, and if you had a warp, that would be the only part of the modular body that anyone would really see anyway... you know what I mean?

I know what you are saying but this is my thinking:

I would almost bet that the vert feed will be standard, with the warp optional, at least on the C+C's.

Why? Because the warp still isn't widely excepted, so it makes more sense to make the marker for the widest possible consumer group. So I don't expect to see milled warp breaches. So now remove the vert breach, and replace it with the unmilled warp breach, it just won't look right.

I could be wrong, and maybe AGD will suprise me, and ofter the milled warp breaches, but I'm not counting on it.
