I think spring break time zone would be better. Late Jan., early Feb. is when the rains get here. Our soil is the evil California black adobe clay, which will stick the meanest 4x4 with ease...much less paintball shoes...it can also be slick as snot. Three steps in this goop will have you weighing 50lbs more.
The ZT field is nothing but this stuff, which takes a little while to dry out too. Not to mention it's freakin' COLD in the Jan/Feb dead of winter where the field is

Hotel/motels are abundant in the 3 main towns: San luis Obispo, Atascadero (closest to field), and Paso Robles. All will run from Motel-6 at $39 a night, to the Madonna Inn at over $250 per....there are lots of Motel-6's though
I also doubt Brad would object to any civilized camping. My brother lives out that way, and I bet I could talk him into letting some camp in his garage.
There is usually a weekend that connects one spring break with the next. I think we need to know when the spring break dates are for most of those who are in school, and we can target those "in-between" days. That will leave the week open for drinking and party's, and the weekend for AO
