mid-june at atomix would definitely work for me. i live 15 minutes from the field, and there's a fairly decent chance of me moving into an apartment complex about 5 minutes from it

Awesome! I just read Cphilip's response to my PM to him about setting an event up. A few of the things he said really sunk in.

find a small one that needs you more than you need them

Atomix is a well known field... I do not know how well the owner will cope with a 10-15$ entry fee(Not including whatever Dinner's cost will be)

Control the paint. Work with the field but make sure you keep a hand into what kinda and how much. Dictate that to them that you want cheap and lots of it. And you want a cut. Use your cut to pay for event stuff.

I am good with words and I can generally smooth talk my way through anything... But, I dont know how the owner of Atomix will react to this... Since the field is already FPO.

Maybe Futureball Outdoor could be a more suitable option. It is BYOP normally, but for the event it could be 50-55$ Field Blaze straight off of the truck... Not to mention that Futureball offers some hot rec-ball action AND has the Sup'7, Hyperball and Xball field. (Atomix only has Airball...)

You other Michigan people, I could use some more input on this. I need your feedback as to what you think would be suitable and/or the most entertaining...

Atomix has an Xball field, its up on their site last time i looked.

I wouldn't worry so much about recouping costs. Just charge the cost of the field fee. Field paint at atomix wouldn't even be too bad, atomix has decent prices and that way we would apeese(sp) the owner. Since they have all day air anyway that would make it that much easier. So $20 field fee, decent priced paint, all day air, all we would really need is a dedicated field, probably the smaller one would be good for a three man tourney. I don't know if they could allow us to bring our own refs even. So add on to that the cost of dinner and it wouldn't be an outrageous price.

Screw future and the owner. If it ends up there you can count me out.

Premium paint for 59$ isnt too bad... But, I need a rough estimate of how many are going to be there for the Group Rate... The owner is being really cool about it, so something nice will be worked out. Im not making reservations until at least Jan-Febuary so i can get a rough estimate of how many people can/will come.

Snocross. Hey man, Kevin has been down with a mad sickness and we should all wish him well. He has been missed in the chat and we all wish for a quick recovery for him. As for not having a mag, don't worry about that because I have a Spyder AMG w/LCD so...meh. It's all about fun and friendship and meeting new people so as long as we're all having fun and all. Heck yeah!
