Alright everyone, let's see what we can do about planning another AO MO day. For those of you that don't know, AO Day 1 consisted of a handful of us (me, ScootyD, Tack, ShooterJM, buck50, Hatetrain, one female friend of mine) heading out to Battlecreek paintball and doing a scenario game in February of '03. We had a pretty lame turnout actually, as the above stats will attest too so I'd really like to see some more enthusiasm.
Battlecreek is a nice enough woods field outside of Columbia, MO, but they didn't have any Sup' Air fields or Hyperball at all. In fact, the woods course was the only one I saw there (although that may have changed by now). Anyway, the four things I would like to see done differently for AO Day 2 are:
1. Have the meet in KC, or real near it. We went east, past Columbia to Battlecreek because it was "easier for everyone involved and closer to being in the middle of the state". Well, most of the people who campaigned for that location didn't even show up in the first place. Since me and the three people I brought made up the majority of AO'ers there, and we had to drive cross country, I'd just like to host one here in town this time.
2. Let's pick a place with better variation. Like I said above, we went to a place with only a woods field and during a scenario game. It was fun, but no speedball or other types of play could be enjoyed.
3. Let's not go when it's MF'n freezing outside! Seriously, it was like 30 degrees for the scenario game. Cold doesn't bother me so much as all the moisture that jacked up the guns and paint.
4. Let's have a better turnout, please! C'mon MO...represent!
Now, that having been said, if ya'll don't have too many problems with the above stated concerns, I can suggest some great places here in town. Hell, I can even get in on setting up a day with them if you guys want me too. My first suggestion would be Paint Games Plus in Holden, MO. It's about 45 min southeast of KC, so that would be even less driving to those of you coming west. It's on HWY 50, and it's got lots of space. They sport a woods field, inflatables, slatwall, castle, and various other fields. I think they have a total of six if I remember right. Anyway, before I get ahead of myself with suggestions, some of you guys that would be interested jump in and let me know what you think.
