A Possible AO Missouri Day 2?

I'm not sure where this idea has gotten too, if anywhere yet. I guess we need to have some of the interested parties chime in here with possible dates that might work well. I think something in September would be great as it would give people enough time to plan on getting out there. Shooter, since you'd be one of the people traveling the furthest, what kind of dates work for you? I still support the idea of having this AO MO Day II at Paint Games Plus North, at Holden, MO.

Mark from Smakzone runs some really good games. The distance is kinda far for the KC crowd but it is worth it. I do remember that the last Meet and Greet we had ended up being a scenario game. Dre and his crew were wanting more of a speedball type format.
I am trying to go to FFOII anyway but I don't know if I can. Geting my store up and running, and working on Battle Creek scenarios have taken alot of my time for the month.Don't try running, you will only give me a better story!

I'll do my best to get to the meet, but I have quite a few bills I need to pay off. I've got pretty much all my gear for sale at this point, but if I can spare the cash and I still have a marker I'll be there. Yeah, so in conclusion I'm not gonna vote on a location or date because it's pretty iffy as to if I can even go. Sucks....Originally posted by dre1919I'm not sure where this idea has gotten too, if anywhere yet. I totally understand about that bro. I say we shoot for some kind of date around the end of September or the first part of October. We could have the event at Paint Games Plus North location in Holden, MO and whoever shows up is who shows up. I mean, I know I can pull in four to five people to come down. If we have it on the other side of the state like last time, I'm just thinking we'll show up and there will be two or three AO'ers again. Nothin' but love ya'll, but driving that far for that kind of turnout kinda sucks. Anywho, I think PGP offers a variety of fields and a good loaction. We had the last one closer to St. Louis, let's do something over here this year. I will be happy to set the event up, but I need to see a "show of hands" on who will attend and possible dates that would work. Here's some potential days:
Sept. 25th or 26th
Oct. 2nd or 3rd (The 2nd is a "Battle of the Bulge" scenario game at PGP North)
Oct. 9th or 10th
Oct. 23rd or 24th
Alright ya'll, LMK.Comment

A voice from the St. Louis area...
Put me down for any event in the St. louis area. W/ enough notice (probably not anymore this year), I would be able to do a KC area event.

Did you guys end up having AO MOIII?
Doobie and I are in TN and may have been able to go if some dates were set. It would've been great to see you guys again! Here are some suggestions, since I was at the first AO MO meet and have been to AO SE and will be attending AO NE this coming weekend.
I can understand the driving situations for some, but if you make it big enough (within reason, considering the smaller crowd), it may be well worth the drive.
I'd suggest to check out some forums on AO SE and AO NE (next weekend), because both of these were so well planned the turnout was/will be amazing! You have to realize people may be driving far, so you have to let them know places to stay (one guy's offering his place to crash), a schedule of events, etc.
The best idea is to plan to have everyone go out that night and hang out at a local bar/restaurant. Don't have them drive 3 hours to play then just let them leave.
It's a long drive back when you're beat! Make it something they can't refuse and a better opportunity to get to know fellow AO'ers is done best in a bar/ restaurant...LOL!
Hope you don't mind the tips and definately keep us posted if you do one next year

trina, good idea but i doubt most of us can hit bars.
we really need to pick a field and date-plenty of notice in advance and let everyone know.
im saving for the last stuff to be dont to my mag then anything i make is $ to play and travel w/e and making FAR ao days is easier if u can find some local guys to chip in for gass and ride along.
also be sure to let us know if we can bring our own paint etc
p.s. if this sint going soon il get the x-treme going but i was kinda hlted b/c there was =interest in a diff place.
i also posted in the ao-iL forum to see if they were interested in a day at x-treme.

Just wondering how many of you all still play in the winter? I haven't played in a long time and was thinking of taking a trip to Battlegrounds here real soon. Not to make a big deal of it but just wondering if anyone will be playing.Comment

I was searching for anything going on in Missouri and didn't find anything so I thought id resurface this thread. Anyone going to try a AO:MO for 2005? I'm going to try make it to Eminent Storm http://www.smakzone.com/oes.html may 13-15, its close to me. I couldn't do a event at KC, but if any come up around Springfield or St Louis ill be in.Comment

Well, the idea of an AO:MO2 was kicked around a bit last year. The main problem as it would seem is that most of the people who post in on what they want always pick someplace over by Columbia or St. Louis. However, speaking as someone who actually WENT to AO:MO1, most of those people who wanted those kinds of things didn't even show up. We had two guys from around the Columbia area (Tack and ScootyD), one cool guy from Colorado (ShooterJM), and then my group of four people. When talk resurfaced about an AO:MO2 day, I suggested we do an event in KC since the last one was on the eastern side of the state, and since the majority of those showing up for it were from my side of the state anyway. The idea was met with resistance as most people didn't want to drive that far for it.
I thought that was a bit goofy since we had to drive all the way to the far side of Columbia for the first (which was actually the second AO:MO day in reality, but that's another story). That, and most of the people complaining wouldn't be showing up anyway. So, I guess the whole thing got scrapped. I offered to help set up the KC event, and no one took me up on it. I would be up for a new AO:MO2 event, but it would have to be in KC or close by the area to make it worth my while. IMHO, we have better fields here anyway. I think people would be surprised at how nice a summer event here in KC would be. I guess if anyone is interested in putting one together, PM me and we can start some talk about it.
