    05 D-Day

I came home a day early because this game has become so set-up it was fun for Germans. I even heard some Allied players saying it sucked because there was so many of them and such little chance for Germans to hold even two objectives. My 'crew' and I are planning on getting together a huge scenario game over at DFW Adventure Park. The owner/friend just bought more land making it the largest paintball field in Texas. We hope to eventually make this scenario compete with D-Day. I'll post more information as I get it.

I had a pretty good time this year, meet some cool people and got shot alot on the wall. As for the game being set-up I dont see how it could have been, but anything is possible. I heard dewane say that there were 3500 people this year and 1,750 (give or take 10-20) germans so that sounds pretty even to me. I do understand that the germans could have been out maned in some of the battles but all that means is that the americans were out numbered elsewhere. I think the main reason the allies won last year and probably this year is that we have been better organized. I have seen alot of germans who go to camp after playing for a couple hours and dont come back. But what the heck, it's just a game and we have to try to make the best out of it. I'm just proud of Minispdrcr's and my crew of engineers this year. Must give alot of credit to a friend of mine from Texas, "Jolly Joe" took down all three gates in under 30 mins and our objective was to have 1 down in that time. I'm not trying to put down your statement because I dont know all the facts, give giving my side to the story. Do let us know if you get something together when your friend decides if he is going to do a scenario at his place.

Our count for Germans was 616. (Straight from Tony/Carl of FBC and Airfield). At Firebase Charlie 45 minutes before the game started Whiting and his crew scanned the woods for snipers and we found 7 behind Charlie. Told the Refs and the snipers ran, and refs didn't do anything. I mean, yes I had a great time being there, but not playing. We were given 30 or so players to keep in Charlie to defend the whole 101 airborne (I think they dropped off 3 Dueces and 4 Buses).

Yeah it wasnt the easiest for allies on the beach...the Germans were cheating like crazy, but anyways I had a great time leading the Engineers, as Chaos said "Jolly Joe" was amazing and pulled all three gates for us.

And Dewayne said the count for Germans that signed up and showed up was 1750 as was said by Chaos. I know I saw a lot walking back to camp and not coming back. I played most of the day till I got mad by going to TWO deadzones that were supposed to have air and paint and neither had any. Only an hour before all the Germans dissapeared and the Allies won.

        Anyway had a great time...

My favorite moment was when Chad Whiteman(SP) threw his ridiculous sword at Convirs, and got banned for life. He was actually quite proud of it...

The Germans fought well up until about 12:00-1:00ish, then it became a cakewalk.

man it was pretty ****ed up, the required german meeting friday night had so few people. firebase charlie went down fast. i met some cool people like arson51 (i used your mag for speedball thursday night) but i didnt get to meet coffey. we got pillaged, the 82nd steamrolled over us and the allies also did more than their fair share of cheating and more than enough over shooting

I won't gripe about overshooting because I was attacking the wall and that's part of it. When you get 400-500 people shooting in the same area it is going to happen. I got shot around 20-25 times within the first hour, 3 times by fellow allies. I am sure both sides did a share of cheating, with that many people it is going to happen. I do know that SOME germans on the wall were cheating early in the game, some were standing on the allies side of the hill and all three of the pull wires on the bridges had been cut within 15 minutes of the start of the game. But like you said, im sure there were allies that overshot and didnt go out when shot too. I was dissapointed that I didnt get to meet any more AOers, we had division meetings basically all day friday and were discouraged from playing speedball on friday night. I did play some speedball on wednesday and saturday night though, was shooting pro edition karnivor (black and yellow) and wearing evil pants if anyone saw me.

Did the 82nd attack st. lo again this year, I know they did last year. And from what I heard the germans retook st. lo so the allies got no points for that.

While we're talking about disapearing...where was the 1st ID before the Friday march? I think I was standing with you (MiniSpdRcr) right before they all walked up.

I was dressed in the Fusion camo with stock harness and PGP.

I was standing there and saw the helmet. I knew that I had seen it somewhere before, just couldn't remember it was AO.
