We Germans left only 11 guys in the "Tower" and a scenario team "Team Tango" of about 20 guys to defend the place. Everybody else was told to fall back and defend Firebase Alpha. I heard later that the attackers had no problem with St Lo but then left it unattened so at the time when the points were to be awarded the couple germans that had been sent back were given the points for St Lo.

I also heard that the Germans "kept" the wall because there was some germans still on the wall at the time. I can't say these are the hard truths. Just the rumors that were floating around Saturday.

From a German on the wall ...

        Hey guys!!!

I was on the wall shooting at most of you.. Saw I was screaming and yelling your name the entire time I was in the bunker we built. After the first time I got shot out after the first 25 minutes I decided to concentrate on just hitting the target and not trying to heard a reply.

I tried to keep the over shooting in our general area to a minimum because we wanted to conserve air and paint. But yeah the shooting on the left and right of us was rather intense.

We definately had more guys on the wall this year. Last year we had maybe half the number there.

Cheating by some german's on the wall??? I'm not going to argue that.. I'm sure there were some german's that didn't like the idea of being out numbered from the get go. I think there were about 400 germans on the wall against the 1000 in the 1st Infantry. And I think my numbers for both sides are a little high.

Cheating by allies on the wall??? Yeah I did see that... There were a lot of shooting by allies when a barrel tag would have been enough. I still can't believe it when I got a 1st inthe trench from about 15 feet away and he *****ed a ref out to yank me for being so "close" .... I pointed out to him that I pulled the trigger on him because I already had him covered and was about to tell him to surrender when he decided to try to draw a bead on me. Looked like he was going to try to shoot me as well.

And then I saw allies leaving boat 4 and going all the way around our right flank so they could get behind us when they were supposed to go over the fence .... Looks like someone forgot the rules ...

But yeah at the beginning when we saw you guy running right from boat one to boat two, our team knew right off the bat what you were trying to do. Get all the boats filled and unloading at the same time to give us to many targets to shoot ...... It was at that point we decided to shot in an attempt to intimidate you guys. I guess I am guilty of shooting people that were already shot by others because there were always 5 to 10 people shooting at the same person. But I wasn't lighting people up .... I was shooting a Phantom ....

After it stopped raining I went in to base to dry out and change cloths and socks ... went back out with my A-5 .... We worked Alpha Base and at the end made a pointless attack on the wall just to have some fun.

The german's lack command. The guy that threw his sword was just as responsible as all the other CO's for not getting the German's organized. The German's also lacked the experienced scenario players. All the experienced players like to be on the american's side ... nothing wrong with that ... just means that the German's are made up of the few experienced players that love being the underdog (like me), or the later registrators that can't get on the American side because your ranks are filled, or the people that register the week of the event.

The time spent organizing anything on the German side just did not exist. I think they had one meeting and that was the night before at like 11:30pm.

My hats off to the allies. I hope that we in the bunker at least gave you a harder fight than you expected. I thought it was funny after the game was over we were looking at our bunker and this kid walked by and said it was stupid and how they took it in 15 minutes.

Funny ..... At 11:15 we still had guys in it shooting people that tried to storm in ..... At 11:00 I was in the trench outside it with 5 other guys taking out a few pushes by the allies to take it and give the three remaining guys inside a chance to take a breather ...

15 minutes I guess really depends on your point of veiw. The bunker forced your CO to change his tactics day of the event ... words right from his mouth when he visited our campsite that night.

Dwayne has already given us permission to build two more ...... We might be able to hold you to 1PM after that.

Now all we have to do is get the Germans organized .... Looks like my hobby for the next year is set in stone.

That's what I had heard about st lo too. Allies took it and left, germans came back and got the points. As for the wall there is no way that the germans got the points, I was there and the allies definetly had control of the wall when time expired. Even if there were a couple of germans somewhere hidden in the woods next to the wall there was no way they had control of the wall, so I think that is false (my 2 cents).

No we didn't control the wall when the time expired. I think the allies took it at around 12 noon or some time shortly after that. Here we are at the end of the game looking at our bunker.

We were told that we could flank the wall as soon as all 3 gates were down. Whether they tried to flank you before the gates were down I dont know. The gates were down in 30-45 minutes, so if they tried to flank you before that then they were wrong.

Part of our plan was to start with the far gate and work our way downhill, so yea we were running like a bunch of scared kids to the far side. I made it all the way to the second boat before I got hit 5 times As for the overshooting, it is going to happen no problems there, if you dont like getting shot then you shouldnt sign up for the 1st ID, thats the way i see it anyway. I kinda like the pain alittle bit, but I guess I have a pretty high threshold for it. Me and minispdrcr were on the 4th boat, you guys were intimidating and we thought we were in for an impossible battle at first. Once we got more ppl over there there were more targets for you (thanks god).

I agree, over the last 2 years it seems that the germans have lacked leadership. The only positive leadership role I saw was the building of the new pill box on the alantic wall. German commanders definetly need to get their act together.

If dewayne lets you build two more pill boxes that will be alot harder to attack, the pill box was a great move by some motivated germans. I would like to see a couple more put up, that would make things very interesting.

On a side note, I dont think that we actually out numbered you by very much if any at all. The main (and a very big main I might add) advantage to the allies is that when we get shot we just go straight to the next boat, when germans get shot you have to go to the deadzone and wait to reinsert, no waiting for the allies. Maybe next year they wont make the germans wait as long in the deadzone or something. But yea, anyways once the germans get some real leadership it will be a much different battle. Out for tonight.

Germans had real leadership. Tony, Carl, and Chuck(green untili-kilt). All three of them were really good leaders, until some other German gen. tooks Chuck's place when he got out, and moved all of our men to another base. All in all I had a great time, but hopefully we can get ours up and running.

Well the wall really didn't have anything. And there was only one "meeting" for the Germans on Friday night.

I'm not saying we need to have meetings every night till the even like the allies, but something were the commanders for each area talks to as many of his people the day before the event would be more than enough.

Either way ... the two bunkers we're putting up next year will make taking the wall next to impossible.

I have a feeling that getting into the 101st or the 82nd is going to be tough. They're made up of the same guys as last year with a few exceptions.

you'll have to be some of the first people to register to get into those positions.

I came over the lake with Charlie company. Our original plan was to take out that pillbox overlooking the breeching areas. We were getting ready when Boomer told us to help the 101st over at Ghost Village. He ordered us to move down that road to the right. Lucky me, I was second off the first Charlie landing craft. There were 25 of us in the boat, including Col. Boomer.

I used the Col as a bunker while we were coming across.

As soon as that ramp dropped, I ran like hell around that first sandbag bunker and down the road. Let me say, I was hauling ***. I had nothing but the PGP, a handful of 12grams, and 200 shots holding me back. I made it to the church without getting hit. What was left of our company (30 or so, we were missing both squad leaders) fought with elements of the 101st and Rangers. I was attached to the Rangers and began pulling security. That's when I personally ferreted out and eliminated 2 German snipers.

After a little bit, the LT took us back to the wall. By then, we were moving up through the breech and over the hill. I moved up and began working with Charlie 1-2's LT (He had 5 men at the time). We were pinned down for 20 minutes or so about halfway up the hill, those damn Germans had a position on the right side of the road we couldn't crack. We finally popped some smoke and charged the guns. That massive charge was insane, I think we made the German gunners piss themselves. I made it up to the gun position with another 1st guy, who immediately sprayed the inside of the bunker with his Shocker (SP is good for something, huh?). We then moved into the trench network and began routing the German resistance.

We cleared the wall and pushed the Germans back to the firebases. That's when the German armor showed up. Our LT positioned an AT team on the right side of that road. Man, they were good. That single team eliminated 9 tanks. While we were taking over the firebases, Razorback decided to show up. After they arrived, we had no trouble.

By the end of the day, I had fought with every unit (minus the French) and been to every objective (minus St. Lo). GREAT DAY!

You see stuff like that shouldn't have happened. Both sides shifting forces was just wrong. I could see you running to Ghost town and helping out the 101st AFTER the fences were blown, but it was clearly stated that the 1st ID had to get the fences blown first.

Hence the 101st got reinforcements that they shouldn't have had.

Well, the refs were instituting some (BS) rules which we were totally unaware of. Like telling us we couldn't use the hill behind our stationary landing craft...
