Why are so many people switching to RTP sears? I read somewhere that they are superior to AM/MM sears. Is this true? Why would this be? Is my Classic sear not performing as well as an RTP sear?
RTP sear vs Classic?

Its the exact same sear, designed a little different with a bushing in the hole. Most of the new rails take the different sear and pin. Same performance level.

Its true, I said it.Originally posted by player4I'm not sure if this is true..but rogue said the RTP sear had less slop
And the RTP/E-mag sears do have less slop. They had to. They were made for RT & XValves(and electros), and the assumption is that they will be used at higher rates of fire.
Less slop= less wear. And these days EVERYONE wants their marker to bounce.
Same performance? Yes, both function the same and are made quality. But, one is better. Its no different than a Classic Valve and XValve. They are both quality, but one is better.Comment

not to steal a thread, but its kinda on topic.
would anyone know why it appeared as though my rt classic sear had bearings in it?
when i was packing up my rt to send out, i compared the sear to my rt pro sear, and notices what looked like ribs on the inside of the bushing on the classic sear. i didnt really look at them too closely, but im wondering if these were maybe roller bearings or something.President Of the UW-Madison Badger Ballers

Its not an optical illusion. The Classic RT's had what can be called roller bearings in there.Originally posted by mag/cocker loverwould anyone know why it appeared as though my rt classic sear had bearings in it?Comment

Actually. they are called needle bearings. And that old RT classic sear also had a carbide insert on the tip of it. The newer RT pros have the bushing, which casues a little less slop.Comment

So if I'm looking to make my setup bouncy (which I am) I should ditch my Alhpa rail and am/mm sear and replace them with let's say a Delta rail and RTP sear? I'm getting a 4500psi flatline after christmas and probably some more shims for my ult, is this something else I should put on the list?Originally posted by RogueFactorIts true, I said it.

Youd be best with getting a no-holes AGD rail.Originally posted by warbeak2099So if I'm looking to make my setup bouncy (which I am) I should ditch my Alhpa rail and am/mm sear and replace them with let's say a Delta rail and RTP sear? No-holes? Oh, you mean one of your milled rails. Sorry Rogue, but I'm loyal to CoolHand. No offense to you. Now, back to my previous question, if I want optimum bounce should I switch to an RTP style rail and sear?Comment

Bounce has nothing to do with the sear.Originally posted by warbeak2099No-holes? Oh, you mean one of your milled rails. Sorry Rogue, but I'm loyal to CoolHand. No offense to you. Now, back to my previous question, if I want optimum bounce should I switch to an RTP style rail and sear?Comment

So then what is the performance difference? Will my mag perform better with an RTP style sear and rail than an am/mm sear and rail?Comment

You don't need to change the sear to get your marker to bounce.Originally posted by warbeak2099So then what is the performance difference? Will my mag perform better with an RTP style sear and rail than an am/mm sear and rail?
When you have it bouncing, the RTP sear might wear a little slower, but you'd be hard pressed to tell.Ryan Shanks
