AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I actually had this idea about a month ago. To make ionish body kits for the ule body.
I then told one of my AO'er friends about the idea. He felt that no self respecting mag owner would paste some plastic molding over there beloved gun. If we wanted ions we would buy ions.
It would be pretty easy to make them 1 piece. You just take the body off and the feed neck off. Slip the body kit over the ule body and put everything back together. The rail and feedneck would hold everything in place.
So since we and it sounds like many others have had the same idea. And nobody has run with the idea. It must be retarded.
If you do decide to run with this I have a buddy who does nothing but send items over seas to be made out of plastic for very cheap. Perhaps if you had a cad drawing, mold, whatever these could be done pretty easily.
I dont plan on using plastic for finished the product, just to try and get a feel for how to work it. Im headed over to my buddies shop today to brainstorm (or tardstorm as the case may be).
Well I spent some time at my friends shop and it looks like this is def. going to happen in some form or another. Unfortunately I wont be able to begin until I get back from vacation at the end of the month. But I will def. update on progress as the project comes along.
As always, open to suggestions (regarding said design )

Keep us posted...I for one am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Its been rolling around in a few peoples head apparently, even my own several months ago... just didnt make it to the front burner so too speak (not just yet anywho).
There seems to be a market out there, even if it is a small one... but get rolling with something ubercool and even the naysayers will come on board.
Looking forward to what you come up with here, at least let us know when your dropping it in the MOTM.
