AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
AO Team What do You Think of this Emag Front Grip???
I don't like the round fore-grip... Looks ugly. The current one looks way better. I would take synreal's idea and put some cool milling (ie the bio hazard symbol, scorpion, etc) on the battery housing.
BTW... Miscue, I love those pics you did!! VERY nice!
Also, I hope Tom isn't holding up production of the C&C Extreme for this crap... Make it an aftermarket option and worry about it later. The regular battery pac looks awesome. Get the damn thing done and GET IT IN MY HANDS!! If you wait to much longer to release the gun, you're going to loose my sale and probably others.
Did anyone hear how the prototype did in LA? Is AGD going forward with the design? What's the deal?
i think the idea of a smaller round front forgrip is one of the best ideas for the emag, the 3rd and 4th pic that you posted tom is AWESOME. its soo much more comfortable and it makes the gun look sooo much lighter, if someone thinks the gun is lighter it will be to them, its all about preception.
power to the round front forgrips
down with the square ones
Round is good, I like the non removable one. Oval would be OK too. The angled one looks ridiculous. close to the triggerguard is fine. Just like a normal mag. I would never put a slip on grip on my battery pack, not for a thousand dollars. As far as milling in it, leave it smooth and straight. Then customizers can turn it down anyway they want, just like the extreme body. BBT could do one that matches the SFL, Manike could do one that matches the C&C and a smooth one would match a plain extreme. How stupid would it look to have a fore grip with a bunch of kool machine work and a body with none. And a normal E mag doesnt have a bunch of neat-O millwork, so straight and smooth would match that too. smaller is better. Remember this game isnt one of inches, its a game of millimeters. The smaller and tighter you can make something, the better off you'll be. After all thats the point of the warp and 68ci 4500s over 114 3000s. I never used a VL3000 because it held more, it was too big, could be a similar thing here. In this case, its like the VL3000 was made before a VL2000.
Thats my opinion.
Well I personally DO NOT like the look of the round. Emags look "right" with the big battery pack. It makes them look like they are complete. And a bunch of AAA's? Uggh, sounds like that could suck. A nice rechargeable sounds better.
I say keep em as they are, I like em!
"If everything is under control your not moving fast enough."
Want I want is put the battery onto the tank like what Miscue is talking about. I may try to jerry-rig something like that up once I get an Emag. It can't be that hard right.
Personally i really like the second pic, with the foregrip angled. It would allow for a bigger drop to fit in. And Kudos to that! I really like the new design. I always found that the original e-mag batteries were just big and bulky, just my opinion though. Does kinda suck that you wont be able to get as many shots off though, but hey, i'd rather have angled, smaller, and lighter...than straight, big, and bulky.
Have you considered looking into different NiMh batteries? The ones that are used in the cel phone and mobile electronics industry are getting a little smaller but can still pack enough juice to run other equipment. Maybe reworking some of the current draw on the emag or any other components you can pul off a fully integrated emag with a smaller source battery. I'm waiting to get my micro so I can discover the world of the "Mag".
