    Barrels kits...

Any other barrel kits recommended by anyone besides the Freak? Does anyone actually use all those inserts? Thanks for everyone's help in advance...

I just use the .687 insert.
Tried just about every kit out there, and I like the Freak the best.
That and the Sanchez Machine kit are the best in my humble opinion.

I've heard that many times. I was just checking to see if there was something different other than what everyone else has... That, and it's SP...

I've never used them personally but the Powerlyte Sceptre kit has always received a lot of praise.

It's somewhat similar, but the sleeves are inserted from the front of the barrel back and are secured in place w/ the barrel front.
The control bore is longer too (I think 8" where the Freak is 5.5-6"?)
A full kit (7 sleeves) can be found for near $100

I never really understood the mechanics behind some of the kits that use only 1-2" of control bore. Maybe it's all smoke and mirrors, but just based on Tom's research I think they wouldn't be as effective.

Powerlyt Scepter. Thanks I'll have to check that one out also. I was told that the TI kit was pretty decent as well.

I don't but into the barrel kit thing. I have two to three cheap-o barrels (yesteryear's model ) and use the one that works best. I really do not feel that a kit will make a big difference. You only use 1-3 of the inserts anyways... That said I hear good things about the Redz Pepperstick Kit, but I think that they stopped making it

              Also, give these a read:

The 2000 scepter kit was by far the best one that powerlite ever put out. There is a small company Titanium Paintball; IMO they make some of the best barrels on the market.

I have one and I loved it with my angel, which is sadly no longer with me
I also have a Phat barrel kit, and an Empire 10 piece kit they both have plenty of different backs and good bore, they haven't disappointed me thus far

I was linked to that thread by another user here, it was extremely informative/long

The Titanium Longbow barrel, does that just use backs for sizing, or is it using inserts? I'm at work, and all the pictures of it anywhere are blocked. The AF is watching...

IMO barrel kits are a scam. Paintballs are not identical ball to ball. If anything have one smaller and one bigger bore barrel.

I have shot a .688 barrel for about 10 years and never had a problem.

                        But its your money.

I thought the same thing, and thats why I splurged on the UL, but a friend let me use his Freak kit, and I notices a difference. Or maybe it was all in my head? Mann's reasoning and data are pretty convincing.

I use a redz peppersick kit, and have had good results with it. Although I rarely use anything but the .687 back.

I get that response alot, I think it's even more so here, because we are on this island, and only have three types of paint to chose from. Can you get a kit with certain inserts only? I know you can with the Scepter, but it's almost the same price as the full kit...
