Yes. Their patent application is still going through as well.Originally posted by ThePixelGuruLame.
Didn't PTP try to patent the clamping feedneck a while ago?
I dont. I will have more eventually. My neck wont be affected, it doesnt have the QR lever. Now you know the reason why Ive never added one.Originally posted by MANNRogue:
do you have yours in stock. If so I might need to stock up on a few.
Yes, they did. CCM was claimed as prior art in the SP application.Originally posted by teboI think I may be wrong but didn't ccm invent the first clamping feedneck? Or did the do the helical slots added to the neck?
Telford submitted ads from the first clamping feedneck.Originally posted by SR_mattquick and easy to get the tossed out, show an add from the first clamping neck.
im really surprised they are allowed to submit patents any more when they have had so many thrown out or later found to be wrongly issued

Hmm, well, I suppose I'd rather see PTP get the patent, if only out of spite.Originally posted by RogueFactorYes. Their patent application is still going through as well.
Does Smart Parts really have a chance at getting this patent? It doesn't seem like it to me, but I've certainly been wrong about this kind of thing before...Comment

does anyone have the address for the Patent Office & pics that they can post of the first cam lock ad , I know I will spend the time & the postage to send them a letterOriginally posted by SR_mattif no one argues or shows that they did not have the idea first then they get it, it can always be revoked if it is proven that they did not have the idea first but its much harder at that point

OK, well I didn't read the patent application as I quit caring much. But if they are listing prior art then it sounds to me like they are doing it right, cool to see them being honest about stuff.Originally posted by RogueFactorYes, they did. Oh, in case anyone forgot, Smart Parts also invented .45 grip frames (not John M. Browning in 1905), macroline, and threaded barrels. Plus ball detents, LED lights and the internet.
*edit* Sorry, forgot Al Gore invented the internet! Duh!Comment

That would be correct, it means nothing if the SP patent grants. Please note the dates of filing...who files first is the 'rightful' owner.Originally posted by ArstronI guess this patent means nothing?
SP patent: Filing(Priority) Date: "This application claims priority from Provisional Application Serial No. 60/600,747, filed August 14th 2004" (From Transmittal of New Application dated 6-28-2005, which can be found in Image File Wrapper)
Sunworld Industrial: Filing(Priority) Date: January 5, 2005
If the PTP application grants, it will have the earliest date. As it takes priority from one of a few applications/CIP's.
Whether they have been given a patent has nothing to do with it. Its all about who has the earliest priority/filing date.Originally posted by ArstronI also know that Dangerous Power was given a patent on their feednecks as well a year or so ago, however I dont know the patent number. I guess it just pays to know who to bribe.
Is the DP patent a US patent? Ive seen it referenced that they have multiple patents. Do you have a link to any of them? Or any info(like inventor name, etc)?Comment
