I didn't mean people who started out on speedball, i mean people that play in tournaments and such and play a lot of speedball now. You can use some of the same tactics from speedball, but that wasn't what i meant, most of those guys started out with woodsball and then moved up to speedball, so they can play both well and they also happen to be some of the most exceptional woodsballers i've ever seen, despite them wearing a jersey. My main point though was that having a gun that looks real doesn't help you in speedball, but having a speedball gun will help a lot more than one that simply looks real or cool but is hard to get through all the brush.Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit. -
I am not totaly in accordance with your statement : ''Yeah, the guys that are best at woodsball are speedball players with speedball guns.''
But the statement below explains your opinion a little more :)
I do agree that a marker that looks real does not make you a better woodsball player. :)Originally posted by snoopay700I didn't mean people who started out on speedball, i mean people that play in tournaments and such and play a lot of speedball now. I also agree that someone playing pro speedball has good training for some aspect of the woodsball game.
But not all speedball or even pro speedball players are better than all woodsball players only.
not all the skills set are the same. A lot of it is.. but not all. :)
But the overall message here that I take is that someone who wants to become a very good paintball player in general, might start playing speedball to get the skill set of a great snap shooter and other aspects of speedball. :)
The subject can be debated for a very long time :)Comment

I was talking more about those that started out on woodsball, most younger speedballers never started out in woodsball but most of the older guys did. Pretty much i've seen guys go from woodsball to speedball and they've been pretty great at it, but the reverse doesn't always work so well unless they have a history in woodsball. I have seen guys who played speedball competitively and they played guys that outnumbered them and played woodsball exclusively, and the guys who played woodsball got their asses handed to them. Oh, and the guys that play speedball were in blue jerseys while the other guys were in camo. Also, how to shoot from a bunker can help you a lot in woodsball as i found myself doing that a lot more after i got more into speedball and it helped me out, because a lot of the guys who are just pure woodsballers never really work on that kind of stuff as much. So yes, speedball can help you out in woodsball in some aspects, but my opinion is more formed from waching guys who played woodsball for a while before playing speedball.Originally posted by SundownI am not totaly in accordance with your statement : ''Yeah, the guys that are best at woodsball are speedball players with speedball guns.''

Ballers
Any way you look at it. The "good" ballers all have lots and lots of time in playing...Not counting prodigy's most have years of play time. Whether it be speed X or woods.Originally posted by VFX_FenixA Tac on Speedball will be just as at home there as anything else. Certain kit may not lend itself well to the type of play that speedball encourages, but the gun itself is no more or less robust than any other gun. The Tac-One is just a body, it's still a Mag at heart.
Also I would agree and disagree.
While the gear may be different, the disciplines are inherently the same.
Speedball will focus on the firefight, since that's exciting to watch (generally speaking) and participate in. Woodsball attempts to incorporate the aspects of stealth and "large scale" maneuvers.
However, when the chips are down, a firefight in speedball is inherently the same as a firefight in woodsball. There are still firing lanes, suppressive fire (ropes), and cutting off angles (flanking) in woodsball. Cover changes and how you use it, but there's nothing mystical about the woodsballer or the speedballer. They're just out there to have a good time and shoot some paint.
As was mentioned above each game offers different skill sets that are an asset to a good player. Just don't expect to be the best over night.
As for the tac one. Throw a ULT in it if doesn't already have it in there shim it up and you can easily throw as much paint as those electro's Or as was put earlier also you can pneu it.
My tac with a ULT and 6 shims pushed by an 850psi output tank can surpass ramping speeds I have it adjusted and polished so there is a sweet spot that pumps out around 18 bps if held. I can also do single shots without worry of runaway. Hell I've even figured out a 3-4 shot burst . Good or bad depending on who you are and what you think about the modding.
Regardless of what anyone tells you. Get out there and put your balls on someones face and have a good time.Comment

I don't know what mil-sim rails are going to do for you on the speedball field, or the woodsball field for that matter.
Now an X-valved automag might be a formidable force on the speedball field, perhaps thats what you meant?Comment

Yes, speedball does help one player have a better snap shot and better shooting technique from a bunker.Originally posted by snoopay700I was talking more about those that started out on woodsball, most younger speedballers never started out in woodsball but most of the older guys did. And there are other factors IMO that can push someone to think that speedball players might seem in general ''better'' in woodsball. But that is a long discussion and not meant to be for this thread..

I'm gong from past experiences, and again, they aren't people that started on speedball.Originally posted by SundownYes, speedball does help one player have a better snap shot and better shooting technique from a bunker.

You can't buy pneumags, the guys who 'invented it' have patented it and haven't come to an agreement about it therefore the paintball community suffers. Sound familiar?
Regardless the best is to make it yourself or contract one of the fine member of AO to make it for you. Cyberrave68 comes to mind, either way check out the dealers section for pneumag.Comment

Depends if you want an mechanical marker or electronic marker(well both).Originally posted by roxcreekIf I were just starting into the automag community do any of you reccomend the Tac-One as my first Automag?
Also, depends if you want the rail on your marker or not.
What is it you want in a marker?Comment

RT ULE, it's cheaper and has the same stuff, unless you REALLY want to mount a scope.Il n'y a point de sots si incommodes que ceux qui ont de l'esprit.Comment
