The guys at the Ninja tent at Spring Castle were very helpfull to my wife when she went looking for a replacement 90* fitting for her X mag that she went back later and picked up a new 68/45 for my sniper.

Hey buddy glad to see you finally got through registration. Now you get to see and reply to all the great things being said about the company. Keep rolling along like you guys have and I look forward seeing you at the next event. Maybe one of these times we'll actually have time to go grab a couple of drinks or something. Oh and what kinda speaker were you guys using at Chicago that thing was rocking us in the FC booth, and you know we keep it loud in there, lol.

I got to talk to the guys at LL3. Actually I had an issue with my crossfire reg that was nearly 10 years old. It started leaking at the fill nipple. So I took it over to the guys at Ninja's tent and they said they could try and fix it since the fill nipples wouldn't be compatable. They replaced the oring, taped the threads, and gassed it up. FIXED. Now I was there with some others and they were tellin me that the Ninja regs are the best there is. I debated since one of my buddies that owns a mag swears by crossfire regs work best for him. SO I decide, what the hell, and had them throw on a ultra light reg and bump up the output pressure to over 900psi(926psi to be exact). One of the guys there with me bought a new tank from there as well. Anxious to test it out I went with my buddy to fill tanks(his new and mine with new reg). Both of us filled up and immediately had problems. His brand new tank was leaking through the pressure gauge and mine was leaking through none other than the fill nipple. Now I was kinda ticked that I went and actually had the crossfire reg fixed and went ahead and bought a new reg and had the same issue. On top of that they guy I was with had a brand new tank leaking. So at this point in time I was less than pleased and took it back to them. They replaced the nipple and I was good to go. So having just replaced a reg and then having to get the reg fixed before even using it I was feeling a little weary about my purchase. Now with the reg output higher than my crossfire I tried some RTing with the x valve. AMAZING! Despite the issues I had, the guys were great and took care of me. I admit I wasn't to impressed at first given the issue with brand new product but the performance was worth it. Now I just need to update the tank to a 4500. I will most likely go to ninja for their biggest since I run remote. Thanks guys for all the help.

I am also interested in getting a high pressure reg even a tank if they can get it up to 1000psi or higher.

I had sent my Pure Energy tank to Ninja for a reg swap. During the swap the threads in the bottle were stripped out because someone at sometime used to much loctite on them. The guys at Ninja gave me a nice discount for a new tank of theirs and I must say that I wish I would have switched to Ninja sooner. No regrets and I can't wait to get another tank from them.

I've been very satisfied with Ninja, but I've got to ask... Does anybody have a genuinely "black" aluminum bobbin on their regulator?

What part of the reg are you calling a bobbin? The actual bonnet? Earlier Ninja regs tend to be dark brown, but both of my ninja tanks have all-black regs. Looks like something they changed a while back.

sry posting from an sp, yes i meant bonnet.

the dark brown ones are brass, hence the dark tone. i've got a "green" black aluminum one and a "yellow" black aluminum one. i've seen one thats "red" black and yet another thats "blue" black. to date i havent seen one that's a true gloss black like those pictured on the site.

doesnt bother me, it actually matches my lok-soks, but having handled about 70 regs ive never seen actual black and im wondering if others have. still love ninja though.

Well it must be a recent change. This is a pic of my 68/4500 purchased in February this year. That looks pretty black to me, not a trace of blue in it:

Posting from SP, i can answer at noon or so. what is it regarding? anything pressing?

also, heres a green one, stock black ninja cap cap for contrast:

ive had nnja tanks for a while so i cant imagine its a new thing. the brass ones obviously cant be a rich gloss black unless theyre painted so i get that, but yours is one of the first aluminum ones ive seen that is genuinely glossy dark black. its no slight against the company, theyve done well by me on many regs and tanks so far, but its something ive noticed myself and heard from plenty of people.

It's about the AGD sticker order, wanted to double-check something with you.

But yeah, most people I've seen have that greenish bonnet.

had a remote line by them that gave me problems right out of the package, when orings and everything finally went haddies i called them about it and they sent me everything i needed to rebuild it back to functioning standards! i was very impressed, especially since they said they dont cover the things that went wrong in warranty for remotes!

The Ninja 68/4500 I just got this week was made in May 2010. It looks like Hook's above and is supposed to have the brass bonnett as that is what I wanted when I ordered it. They must be painting the brass bonetts. The black is a different shade that the other part of the reg that the bonnett connects to so I hope this means that I did really get a brass bonnett.

I have seen somewhere online that Ninja is offering the "Ultralight" version of their tanks. As near I can tell, the "ultralight" version is the aluminum bonnett. Oh, and the brass version is $5 cheaper.

I've held both brass and aluminum bonnets and there is a good difference in weight. Appearance-wise, both were the same shade of black like the one I pictured above.
