I'm really glad to hear all the support for rec/woods ball. Sometimes reading thru the various threads here it seems like I am alone in my preference for simple rec games.

I actually like just going out to the field, joking with my buddies, and playing with whoever showed up that day. I try to treat the rentals/newbs as I would like to have been treated when I was in their place.

I would rather be the "approchable" guy in the staging area, than the "pro" every one is afraid to ask a question.

Not that I want every 12yr old out there wanting to shoot my Emag, but if they want to ask me about it, I'm glad to answer their questions.

I've been playing for nearly 7 years now on and off, my bro in law and fther in law for about 12, and we always wear camo cause it's fun and I don't feel like spending over $100.00 to buy a set of dye gear or JT gear, just not worth the money, that can go towards gun upgrades. And most of the time I play, about 75% of the everyone playing is wearing camo, and about 70% of them are not newbs, trust me. If you look at me and say ah he's wearing camo, must be a newb, then you'll be sorry come game time.

No matter what the real topic all someone has to do is diss camos and woodsball and the debate begins.......

I actually bought a cheap adidas basketball jersey and wear my "heavy manual labor" pants when playing speedball. I got sick of everyone explaining to me the concept of speedball everytime I went to the field.

Don't worry Blennidae there are alot of us here who like rec. I know where you are coming from. I just like to go to the field and have some fun. Of course I do you one better. Those darn 12 year olds with rentals sometimes take me out. It makes them feel good though and it is so darn cute to hear them talk about taking out a "pro". If only they knew.......

I know there are many, MANY different types of playing, and types of feilds. It's truly hard to find a strait up woods feild anymore. Now there are a few feilds around here that have woods ball.. but that's not what they brag about.. Paintball Atlanta .. they have 12 feilds.. if I'm not mistaken.. and the best feild is by far their 10 man hyperball.

I go to fields where the ONLY thing they have a speedball, hyperball, and air fields... so when I see someone in camo.. I either think "old timmer" (if there 30+ and playing with a shocker, you know what I'm talking about .. lol) or .. newbie.
A jersey.. i think it shows if nothing eles... a "want" to play. If they spend $30+ on a jersey, I know they are wanting to be money. now, if I pick teams... I pick spots.. not players. I see a man with 12 pods.. FULL, heys my back man! I don't like picking teams...but whatever.

I will RESTATE my post, if you don't love Speedball, then you have never played real speedball!!

oh well... maybe if you don't want to stand out.. do what I do... GO TO better feilds... feilds where there are angels, emags, gzs... don't go to newbie fields... just my thoughts for the day

Who really cares about woods ball... I mean... don't get me wrong, but if you want that... go to the tippman forums..

I care about woodsball. I have played speedball and it just isnt for me. A good number of the people here began playing paintball, myself included, when there was no such thing as speedball. People shouldnt look down at people over anything but especially not over silly things like variations in paintball games.

LOL These types of posts crack me up. Not because of the picture... but because... HELLO!!!! What do people think the forums are for? LOL

Of course they are to discuss things and to state your personal opinions and defend them if need be. As long as people stay within the rules and do it in a civil manner, it is all good.....

I play mainly at Paintball Sams in Racine, which is about 80% woodsball, with two outdoor speedball fields. I actually enjoy playing even when my team consists of all kids with rentals - just seeing people enjoying the game is fun, for me at least.

After a couple of games in the woods, I always want to go to the speedball field, but some of the best games I've had have consisted of sneaking through trees and crawling through bushes To not enjoy playing on any field except {insert field type here} seems a little sad to me - I love 'em all, because I love to paintball!

newbie a.k.a. noob, newb, etc. = someone who has not played or has not played much, has none or little knowledge of the sport or equipment. how they dress does not matter.

pro = someone who plays the sport extensively, perhaps on a team or in some organization. Has much knowledge of the sport and equipment. how they dress does not matter.
