    woodsball or speedball

This comes after some time, and different threads... I just want to see how many here likes woodsball, or speedball, or both....

I played woodsball for the first time in two years this past weekend!! I didn't care much for it. I shoot way to much paint for woods play, I have made my mind up, i just don't like it. At the end of the day when there was only 4 of us left, we went down to the new 3 man speedball field. (the guys at the field were building it all day) so we were the first ones to play!!!! I love speedball.... I just like that style of game play... but I don't have any hard feelings towards woodsball... just not my game!

    what's your game?

Exact opposit of you. I love woodsball. I like the whole concpt of sneaking up on people and the like.

I've given speedball a try, but it's just not my game.

bunkering's cool, but out flanking and taking your oppenent in the rear is better >:]

Actually, I like both and for different reasons.

Speedball: It's got a great fast pace and adrenaline rush to the games. You have to learn good technique with regard to how you shoot from the bunker types and you get to fire a lot more paint. It's also more colorful...with a better stage to show off custom guns and uniforms. More "organized sport" related.

Woodsball: It's fantastic in terms of the mental game. It takes skill and strategy to stalk someone and take them out without getting hit yourself. You don't have to worry about having the money for a lot of paint or even for expensive equipment. Another good thing here is you can play it almost anywhere **cough** I mean only at paintball fields. Yeah, that's it.

So I think they both rock. I started playing woodsball and went to speedball as it developed into what it is today.

depends really. I'm more of a speed ball fan really. But if you get 100+ people going aginst each other in the woods its a huge rush.
        it happens.

The last time I played woodsball after walking for a good 20 minutes into the woods I realized that I need a staging area. I like to have my gear with me and its too much of a PITA to carry it into the woods. My roots are in the woods so I respect wood ballers but you won't see me in a forest any time soon.

I'm gonna have to go with both.I started playing woodsball but I play speedball whenever I can so it's nice to go play some woodsball to. The field that I play at mostly is all wooded but the games are still fast paced (not as fast as speedball)which is cool. Truely I don't think many can say that they've experienced paintball until they've played speedball.

speedball is pretty fun, but woodsballs a little better. i dont really have a team, so i end up going with the groups of like 30 plus walk ons. speedballs fun, but 15 people a team is a little too much, woodsball lets us spread out a bit more. i like both, but woodsball is what i started playing on, and to me its just a little more fun.

speedball is good fun from time to time, but there's nothin quite like a good woods game. my local field held a scenario game this past sunday with about 50 people in attendance(it was a really crappy day, otherwise i'm sure more would have showed up). second greatest day of paintball i've ever played(the first being the last scenario game they held)

I cant play woodsball anymore for the most part cause it fustrates me when I cant see who i am shooting at and if I try to bunker someone I trip over a root. I do enjoy some small wooded fields. I hate big game style fiercely.

I prefer woods because I can wear my guilliet (sp) suit and run around sneaking up on people. It takes more strategy to win in woods than speed. Yeah I know speed takes strategy too but most kids with the *bling *bling on their guns dont last too long b/c they stick out like sore thumbs, but then again, most with the bling have electro guns...but that's another topic, personally I'd take a RT mag over any electro any day. Why? Because my gun wont be in the shop or in the mail 1/2 the time since it wont break down as often. Electro's are compensaters for skill, or as my girlfriend says, extensions of the shooters penis.
