Regards to the Big Gun versus Little gun issue on speedball field. Lets put it this way, i can shoot faster with a spyder than i can with an angel. i even shoot a guys nipple ring off with it at paintball daves indoor field last winter. I love my spyder, Angels are for people that have big egos. I'm sorry, I'll stick to my spyder and my mag any day of the week.

funny how no matter how you state everything something always comes up and we get to fuss our points out to the T!
my turn
on the gun issue.... GUN DOES , DOES, DOES, DOES, DOES, DOES make a difference. PERIOD! fuss all you want, go ahead and flame.. I don't care. you'ld be deff dumb and blind... (sure you might play a mean pinball)
If I get on the feild with my LX Z-RT and someone eles is on the feild with a Talon, or a "sniper" gun.. (you know, the spyders, tipps, and other low end guns, with 22" and longer barrels" big scopes, etc...) I'm going to rip them apart 9 out of 10 times.
yeah, there will be that 1 time... there always is...
but gun does make a difference. If I shoot 100 balls at you by the time you can shoot 5 back, who has the higher chance of getting hit? Gun speed makes a difference, now... as far as Angels and EMAGS, and other high end elctros ... I think it is personal from there... but there is a noticable difference between my EMAG and your spyder. ...
and size matters, the smaller, tigher you can get, the less chance of being hit, the less you have to poke out to shoot... this is SPEEDBALL!!!
so.. thoses who say guns don't make a difference .... need to check your thinking... now.. guns don't make a great player... I'm not saying that... guns don't make a player at all infact! but a good player with a great gun is going to be better then a good player with a good gun... make sence?
now as far as woodsball... I donno... ask someone who plays ...The MOOSE is LOOSE!

Like i said, big guns = big egoes. it's all how fast you can pull the trigger. I personally can get my spyder to do 20 a second. If you don't believe me, get a nipple ring and i'll shoot it off for ya. I don't disagree that theres a big difference between say an emag and a spyder. Its called money. If you got the money, by all means get the big guns.Unlike most people, i need no elctro to show that i'm better.

I do not wish to disrespect anyone in any form or way. Its just that i can't see spending a grand on a gun that i'm barely gonna use do to the local field that i go to having no comp air. Sure in some form or fashion maybe i'd get something that much some day, but the local field doesn't really provide that option yet for me. Its just that i've been able to maximize the performance of what i have so that i have an equal chance of getting them out as much as they have at me. I do have the RT Pro(one of the first 2 hundred made) i know and relize that its high tech in a sense, very proud of its performance also. Maybe my feelings on this matter are spilling out after a recent expirence at the Big Game at sam's a couple weeks ago. There were a few idiots there that decided to bash my friend cuz he was shooting a VM-68. I mean come on, the VM is one of the greatest guns ever made.

First off anyone who says that the marker makes no difference has never tried to sprint and dive between two bunkers only to be tagged by a paint rope. Yes I mean rope.Originally posted by boomerfoxtrot

Now as far as woodsball goes it doesn't make as much of a difference as long as it is woods ball on a large field. There isn't as much shooting and alot of stalking so naturally the marker isn't going to be as important as rate of fire is not as important.
Now of course the marker makes some difference when it comes to range since some markers fire further and more accurately when set to 300 fps than other (kidding).ULE Body Level 10 Automag intelliframe + retrovalveComment

well, I'm glad that someone else KNOWS that my AutoCocker shoots futher and more accurately then all the other guns, cause it's a cocker baby!!Originally posted by aaron_mag

LMAO!!!!!
as far as a sypder shooting 20bps... I'ld have to see it before I would believe it.. even when I had an EM1 with the N-Bolt (before I found mags) it wouldn't shoot 20bps, and if your telling me that you can pull the trigger at 20BPS then... which video are you in.. cause I'm sure Tramma Has you on tape!!

Seabaas
I perfer speedball , I think thats mainly because I've broken my big toe on a wooded field where they cut the small trees back , went to turn on a buried stump, all weight shifted onto big toe, ... snap.
So far my experience has been there have been less dangerous obsticles on speedball fields, so I guess that's why I tend to stick with em.
Laying behind a bunker hurt when nobody around sees you isn't fun. - SeabaasComment

i love woodsball. its the first type of paintball ive played. speedballs ok. theres not much to it though. sure, it takes alot of skill. but there are only so many bunkers you can hide behind. and there are only so many angles. but in woodsball, there are a million+ angles. you can hide in a tree, if you can fit. :)
i like both. but i prefer woodsball. i love all types of paintball.

Yeah right, let me explain:Like i said, big guns = big egoes. it's all how fast you can pull the trigger. I personally can get my spyder to do 20 a second. If you don't believe me, get a nipple ring and i'll shoot it off for ya. I don't disagree that theres a big difference between say an emag and a spyder. Its called money. You aren't hitting 20bps on semi auto. Not only could you not do that with a Spyder (or any other gun for that matter), if you did you would get such massive shootdown that you wouldn't be able to hit crap. Take this from someone who has owned a Spyder, and knows quite a bit about them. I'll believe you when you get a video and show me that you can shoot above 13bps. A mechanical Spyder can't do 20bps, as can no other gun. Stop trying to pull facts out of your *** that are obviously untrue.
Better guns=better performance. Guess what, some people do enjoy a better gun, and not just because they have a big ego or lots of money to spend. Higher end guns tend to be more compact, more efficient, more reliable, lighter, more consistant, and faster. You can argue all you wan't about how your Spyder can do that with upgrading. The fact is though, by the time you're done modding out and upgrading your gun, you'll have spent enough to atleast buy a Matrix or Rat Impulse (on top of which would end up still being more reliable, would look cleaner, and would have better warranties).
There's a reason I ditched my Spyder for a Cocker. And it's because the Spyder couldn't keep up (even with a Storm frame and Vigilante Regulator). I find it easier to play better with my Cocker, and it feels worlds more comfortable too.
------------------------------------------------------------
On another note, I do know that a better gun can have a large influence on how well someone plays. However, it doesn't make the player. If you suck a lot, and have an Angel, a very good player with an upgraded Spyder or Mag Classic could still rock you. I have seen this, more than a few times. All in all, I'm just saying that the gun isn't the deciding factor, the player is.Converge KillsComment

I generally prefer woods ball, speed ball is tons of fun too.
I have markers set up for one or the other.
Woods
vm-68 (taso winforce barrel, coned stock bolt, benchmark expasion chamber, trigger job)
vm-68 exc (stock except for taso winforce barrel and trigger job)
tippmann model 98 custom RT (double trigger, expansion chamber, rocket cock, rva, taso winforce barrel, and silenced internals)
Speed ball
Automag classic (fighter x fore grip and drop forward)
Automag AKA "mut mag" (have to explain it on my webpage)
Brass Eagle Rainmaker AKA the "Dark cloud"
Reguarding rate of fire and skill
Give a monkey a AK-47 and a loaded snail drum, eventually it will hit something worth while.
(you can quote me on that)

hey dude, i gotta say, speed ball is where it is at, But even better, X Ball.
I like the woods sure, but i dont like that crawlin around crap, and everyone trying to be a sniper.
What i really like is thinking fast, using math to judge my angles and shooting lanes, and using logic to figure out where to move, and where the other person is going to move and or shoot.
IM a speedballer, and thats all there is to it. Plus i use less paint in speed ball! in the woods i just hose em!

Electros are hardly compensators for skill. If you dont have skill and you play speedball with an electro you are going to get your behind kicked regardless. The only time I would think skill and ROF would come in is with stock guns. IF you are extremely aggressive and move a lot a stock gunner doesnt have much of a chance. But if they post up on you 1on1 it is unlikely you will get out of that spot. I learned that the hard and embarrassing way.Originally posted by Rabidus
I prefer woods because I can wear my guilliet (sp) suit and run around sneaking up on people. It takes more strategy to win in woods than speed. Yeah I know speed takes strategy too but most kids with the *bling *bling on their guns dont last too long b/c they stick out like sore thumbs, but then again, most with the bling have electro guns...but that's another topic, personally I'd take a RT mag over any electro any day. Why? Because my gun wont be in the shop or in the mail 1/2 the time since it wont break down as often. Electro's are compensaters for skill, or as my girlfriend says, extensions of the shooters penis.
Now that I think about it though woods is a lot safer to play with newbies. at the arena I kept getting shot by my own team cause of the close quarters and the tons of rentals with mags firing faster than rentals should be allowed to
