    Best Newbie Marker

Hey all, I'm thinking about getting my little bro his first paintball gun for christmas. He hasn't played much because he's 9, but he really would love to play more. My question is, would it be better to buy him a cheap ACI Sinister for $99 or a mid-range gun (BKO, automag, autococker) that he can build up? Money and value is an issue.

A tippmann will never let you down. Upgradable and customizable. I would go with a Model 98 custom.

spyder or tippmann. Either way they are both dependable and reliable.

Yes a Tippmann is a great beginers marker. They are built very well and are near impossiable to break. Also if you find your self lacking in fire power you can always add a RT kit.

              Tippmann

I'd suggest a Carbine or Model98, they are easy to care of and are fairly light and inexpensive guns. At Paintballgear.com they have gun/mask/hopper packages starting at 168.00

tippy i would say, easily cleaned and super upgradeble. plus there hard to mess up unless there is a factory problem and i think tippman has a pretty good warranty

Absolutely go with a mid range gun, it will save you lots of money in the long run!! If he plays with any regularity, he will outgrow the low end guns within months!! then, you wil either waste money "upgrading"a low level gun, or buying a mid level gun anyway!! So just go ahead and buy a mid level gun from the start!!

go with a basic spyder. They might not be as reliable as a tippman but they are far more upgradable. Besides a spyder is like the basic for all beginner paintguns. If something was to break everyone has spare spyder/clone parts laying around.

if you are sure your brother will keep playing, I would reccomend the mid range gun. I outgrew my carbine in two monthes

I've never seen the sinister before :) It looks nice, especially for $100

I'd just get him something cheap too, while mags are nice, a stock mag in a 9 year olds eyes probably doesn't compare to a black dragun or something :)

Black Draguns are something worth looking at, as they don't really need any upgrades and have a semi-decent trigger for a newbie.

I would say black dragun also. The only problem is, unless they have something fast to feed them...they really are a blender.
