clanger: Until the mag becomes more efficient I really don't see it becoming a big time gun. How many shots can you pump out of a 68/4500 on a mag?

None lol. Crazy bad efdiciency. They are oldschool, I lovem but they are oldschool and the Emags are just too much. I beleive 03 is the year of impy's. THere are at least 2 dozen "custom" impulses out there. Granted they are mostly stock with milling, but that so many companies have focused on the imp, very impressive. I'd Also say the Trix, I didn't realy understand how good they were untill I shot it. They are machine guns to say the least. Oh yea and look for somethign crazy in the ICD world by the end of the year. There is some serious stuff going on.

lol I posted the pic for no reason, just looks funny with such a small barrel and ginormus tank

I think the year of... is over. Frankly there are too many companies making too many good guns for any single gun to dominate. (I have a feeling I will be corrected). Factually, pick up a mag, e-mag, cocker, e-blade cocker, timmy, angel, matrix, impulse, bushmaster... etc. and it is all just personal preference in the end. Except for the most elite players that can pull the trigger 25+ times its a matter of personal opinion. All of these guns are great guns - they have the ability to shoot paint accurately as fast as you pull the trigger without chopping vast amounts. The bar is simply to high for any gun to dominate.

year of the mag?? Maybe in in like 2010.....Still haven't seen any more mags at my field/area, and i work at a paintball store. They will not be popular untill they get better effency, lower pressure, an overall better feel.

This is the year of the angel (speed), timmy (whatever), e blade, and the trix, although in my area Angels and timmies are the most popular.

On mags, lvl 10 has done some, but people still don't care enough and prefer better, main stream gats.

i think the next big step would be including an I-frame with classics along with a foregrip and level 10, and maybe even *gasp* a stock barrel, even if it isnt the greatest, new players want to buy one marker that they can play with right out of the box. maybe uping the price to about $300-$350 to compete with stock A/C's. For example, just like the TKO Mag on Paintballgear.com, but with an I-Frame. I think that 99% of us wouldn't be all that distressed if that carbon-fiber frame unexpectedly stopped production.

Sorry Digitard, but I'd have to agree with Bunkerhugger as being the biggest Mag supporter in AZ. You did BS with me about mags at the 3-man tourney at Pro Sports Paintball in Phoenix, but Bunkerhugger let me use his minimag with level 10 the whole day at Desert Fox about...1-2 years ago. I bought a level ten that night. And he let me use his Z-grip mag that day too. I looked and looked but couldn't find any in my price range He also wears an AGD cap EVERWHERE. Can't wait to use his X-mag at the scenario game.

                        IMO,

I have to agree with Lohman446, it comes down to personal preference. I love my mag, x-valve, level 10, ule trig and body, kaner barrel system...very sweet gun. Making it my tourney gun now over my 2k3 bushy. I have the cash for an X-Mag and was ready to buy it, simply because I love my mag so much and have had a couple of mags in my possesion since 1992. I could not wait to buy my X-mag. But then, I was able to try one out at a local field that another team was using. I was drooling, put that X-mag in my hand and ergonomically it did not feel right...huh?? It felt heavy and awkward...crud. The grip seemed big for my small hands. I tried shoot at least 5 pods thru it and for as hard as I tried to like it, I could not get a good feel for it. I did not purchase it because of that reason, it felt awkward and just was not right, personal preference. Now my mag and bushy from day one felt right as rain as soon as I picked them up. So I am waiting for Tom and AGD to do something before I make my purchase of another marker. I love the AGD product line, but there are alot of other products out there.

                              Wow, talk about thread resurrection

I think 2004 is going to be the death of the "Timmy".

The thing about being on top is that everyone guns for you.

Look at what happened with the autococker.

The latest intimidator lookalike contest will probably have certain paintballers making some hard realizations about their equipment.

Time will tell. It's fun to watch everything unfold though.
                              "Accuracy by aiming."

                              Definitely not on the A-Team.

IMO, there needs to be a mag that competes with the stock cocker, at a 350 dollar price range, include, ule bodies, and intelliframes stock, along with some cheaper decent barrel, like a jj ceramic, lapco bigshot and a foregrip, that would directly compete with a stock 2k3 cocker, most n00bs see mags as slow ugly pos, with a ule they will look as good as a stock cocker, they will have a better barrel, be lighter and smaller, plus they will have a 2x trigger to match the hinge of cockers
