I like the finger grooves thought, since we will have to use pannels, and no wrap arounds with the finger grooves. I dont ever seem to have a problem with them, but I know some people complain about them...

I don't know why someone said using the snatch grip while running. Oboviously that isn't the best idea becuase of the displacement of weight.

The snatch grip is more of a "just another way" to carry your gun. I've seen guys carrying angels around like that and I've also seen cocker being carried like it. I see a safty benifit of it though. I don't know how mna times I've left my imp on and accidently hit the trigger while walking around.

and as far as the y-grip being more expensive becuase of it. I'm not really seeing that. Its a minor milling diffrence. and shouldn't make that big of a diffrence if any in the price.

            just my 2 cents

It's mainly just preference. For me, the back part of the marker is easier to hold on to when your at an all out sprint. I guess because you can wrap all 4 fingers around it and hold on tight without the trigger getting in the way.
The back of the mag is the perfect size for my hand, I just don't have a snatch grip.

-edit- Maybe I'm wrong, but I think I heard talk that SHartley was going to make some of these... I am I right?
In either case, the snatch grip should be another, seperate aftermarket part one could buy. I don't think it's a good idea to incorporate it int the grip because alot of people don't want a snatch, but want a Y. So for now, Lose the snatch

Also, Littlematt, the whole reason snatch grips were designed was to give players something to hold onto while running at full sprint. (so the trigger doesn't get in the way.)

what the heck is a snatch grip anyway, what is it good for? I have some clue looking at this thread, but this is the first I've heard of it...

btw, what good is a y-grip if it's not E-magable? That's bad karma to design top of the line parts for the low-er end guns. It's it's not E-magable then it's never gonna take off.

Not everyone wants an E-mag, has one, or has the money for one. Look at what has happened to the RT. For all intents and purposes, that marker is dead. There are few parts that are swappable with other AGD products. Sure, there are upgrades available for it, but they are for the RT only.

I have an RT Pro and my "lower end" marker can keep up (or out-shoot) some of the higher end markers and electros. I like having upgrade options. I like having the ability to swap parts with my Micromag, if needed. I gave my girlfriend my RT, as she's a rec player and doesn't care for upgrading the marker.

All in all, I would guess that there are more Automags, Minimags, RT Pros and Micromags out there on the fields than there are E-mags. By making the y-frame for the non-E-mag markers, (which is *not* compatible with the E-mag due to the frame internal solenoid) AGD is showing that they care about the "lower end" markers and their owners, not worried about turning max profit and are interested in keeping their customer base happy.

If AGD turned their backs on the non-E-mag owners, tried to maximize profit by pushing E-mag only upgrades and parts, I would guess that Tom would end up closing his doors within a year or so.

I beg to differ. I think making this "top of the line" part is going to sell like hotcakes.

                  Charles

(and yes, I'm going to buy 2 of them. 1 for my RTP, the other for my Micromag)

                  editted for spelling

Well I remember reading something about the main reason why one hasn't been designed for the emag is that the solenoid would have to be completely redesigned to work at that angle and wouldn't be cost effective.

Snatch grips are aftermarket parts, mainly found only for angels and cockers, allowing the user an alternate way of gripping the marker while running hard for the 50 or just walking to/from the field. These parts are made by several different manufacturers like Cobra, Warped Sportz, Evil, and others. They are also referred to as Fang grips, 2-finger grips, and probably others, too (Evil calls theirs the 'Beaversnatch'.

I would think maybe an extra hump in the snatch and I would extend it a little longer.

ok, i'm holding the mag by the back right now... I find it too short/small for me to grip... and my hands are smaller than a lot of other people's. I can only get a firm grip on the back with three fingers. I also have problems getting my thumbs around the back because of the air line eblow.

                              .

Ok here is my rendition of the new one...the curve at the bottom of the grip where your fingers go has been sharpened, so that dirt and stuff won't get stuck in between that and the drop forward( plus, it will be more naturally mated to any drop) , inside the trigger guard at the top left has been smoothed, the field strip screw recessed, and the snatch grip improved. I made it red just for fun
