I use a freak on my cocker.I have actually noticed my accuracy decrease using a 14" tip vs. the 10" tip.
The only advantage I notice for the length is that it is quieter.Comment

barrel length
just my .02 here
Concerning barrel length it comes down to preference and style of play, I think. I have seen some wicked 'ballers up front playing with 18 inch barrels and taking down just about anyone they come up against. For me a sixteen works well (mid-front) because, like so many others have said, it allows you to push the barrel into the bunker and this exposes less of you/marker. I also have played against and with Element (am A team) and they tend to stand away from their bunkers a couple of feet (unless they're forced to stick tight) and snap shoot without worrying about the bunker obstructing movement. but even so they still use 12-16 inch barrels.
My biggest gripe with the short barrels is that you expose yourself more to get a shot, if your playing tight.
