I wonder if DYE would be able to make the Matrix as small and compact as the XMAG and 03 Shocker...

If they moved the battery into the grip frame (like the Timmy), they could totally lower the profile.

I like the Matrix spool valve/dump chamber design.

Now that the FF bolt is solving efficiency problems and the developement of the ACE for the Trix is progressing quite successfully, the Matrix looks like it has the potential to be the top dawg for the next couple of years.

I just may have to get one some day...

Interesting, that is the third owner for that design.
actually not the third owner but a second source.

and doesn't procaps own gen-e therefore still the FIRST
owner (not counting the patent holders/inventors)

Perhaps Tom can tell use why he so obviously dislikes the
Matrix and therefore why we should as well

        Third source, second owner.

Original owner's name escape's me at the moment - Canadian guy. Original plans were an electronic version and a pneumatic version (lower cost) where the trigger actuated a 4 way mechanically.

First source for the gun, manufacturing under license, Airtech Industries which is owned in part by Richmond Italia, one of the owners of Procaps (DraXxus).

Second source manufacturing under license, Generation E, owned by Paul Sattler. Gen E also distributes Bunker King in the US, and Toxic Performance.

Third source, DYE owned by Dave "Youngblood," who has also purchased the design, and had a deal set up for Gen E to still sell him.

I don't think that finding it interesting that ownership and licensing of the gun has changed over time necessarily indicates obvious dislike.

        See you on the field,

My comment is not based on only that one statement.
search matrix and AGD and tell me if you find ONE positive
          comment made by Tom.

again is Gen-e not ultimately still owned by procaps as
was airtech/diablo? (I actually hoped Bill has the answer on that)

not wanting to beat this to death but first, the matrix
forums that I hang out at are quite positive about the mag.
              (they are cousins after all)

It just suprises me that Tom, who seldom has bad things
to say about other companies markers, has yet to refer to the matrix in a positive way, that I have seen.

It is my impression (perhaps wrong) that Tom doesn't like
the matrix and I'm just curious to know why.

P.s. I own both mag and matrix

In all honesty, I am very excited about this. I have alot of respect for DYE because they come out with stylish gear that while expensive, is of high quality. I have had my DYE jersey for over a year and it still looks brand new. Most players at the field I play at wear DYE stuff like it's the only thing they can wear without dying(no pun intended), and it holds up to alot of abuse. I think if DYE can get their ideas into the design of a new smaller, faster, lighter, matrix, we should see something that everyone will like. And as a plus, this might drive the cost of used matrices down, thereby helping the little guy(me) afford one.

I say, Good Job Dye, Good Job.

Actually a good little while back, tom was recording the pressure applied to a paintball being fired from I think the (angel, impulse, automag, and matrix) and he stated that the matrix had the lowest force on the ball (45psi). So thats not a bad statment.

Oh and the second dye annouced they were making a "matrix II" the resale on everyones matrix just dropped 150 - 200 bones. Im not too happy about that being that I've dumped about 1400 into my gun and I probably wont see 800 out of it when I decide to sell.

Procaps/ Draxxus has nothing to do with Generation-E Sports, other than friendly relationships, and good will, no ownership exists either way.

DYE will be the sole manufacturer of Matrix guns, there will be a few custom Matrix's still, guns, parts, and service will be available from both Dye and Gen-E.

To correct Bill (which I'm not able to do very often), 3 Matrix/ Gen-E teams; NYX, Trauma, LA Ironmen, 2 Smart Parts; Philly and Detroit. 2 Intimidator teams; Assasins and Effect and one Mix; Aftershock (with Nicky Cuba using a Matrix sometimes I might add)

                    Thanks,

I couldn't give you an exact date, but the fact that there is a Detroit Thunder Impulse, being used by all of the players on Detroit Thunder is a good indication that they are a Smart Parts team.
