Dye is just admitting that their product is inferior- IF they could make a superior product, then they'd have the matrix aftermarket locked up anyway. But that is not the case, so they go after aardvark, etc.

    Shhh...I have a....cocker...

or they might just have learned a lesson from the sp thing and decided to protect their patent, because if they didnt protect it they would loose it. and maybe just maybe they are planning to go after SP cuz the new shocker bolt is similiar to their design. i doubt they would since they are all part of the psp bedfellow club, but it would be nice to see sp reap what they sew.

Well, the problem is the bolts arent exact reporductions, otherwise they would perform similarly. I have not seen anything indicating exacly what justification they are using to order a halt in the manufacturing of aftermarket bolt kits.

Frankly, the idea that they might halt the production of all aftermarket matrix parts is even more scary. That means they are going after any part that is designed to work with their gun, even if its method of operation is different, i.e DYE LPR vs AKA SCM for the matrix. But that rumor has yet to be proven.

oh yeah ... and i think Dye is making a very stupid business move, people wont want to buy matrix's when all the good upgrades will no longer be sold.

That is complete and utter NONSENSE.

if Dye wants to deny warrantee on a gun that has aftermarket bolt pieces in it, that's fine, but how you you legally limit what a company can mill and sell as an upgrade? They aren't copying anything. Granted they didn't design the bolt system, but for god's sake that is ludicris.

I wanna see ford sending cease and desist letters to everyone making aftermarket exhaust systems for mustangs. You didn't invent the mustang, and even though we've already raped our customers for $$$, you can't sell them the upgrade or you'll be prosecuted.

                    past cases

I would recommend any aftermarket company looking to produce parts make reference to any legal cases with aftermarket parts for cars, video game consoles (I know Sony doesn't like aftermarket controllers but can't stop it), and such. They just couldn't call them DYE matrix accessories. If Dye is in their right to stop it, oh well. But there might be just a scare tactic on their part here to free up the market.

I wish AGD would. the only time mags break is when nonAGD parts are put on them.

DYE didn't buy Gen-E, they boutht the rights of manufacture, etc from us and the patent from Leethal among others. We are a seperate and happily exisiting company.

Personally, I think this is a very stupid move by DYE, mainly by not allowing people to make aftermarket parts. (which I'm not even sure is legal) They are just making the DM4, as well as other matrices worse. Thus, people who don't give into hype won't be buying them. Unless of course Dye just copies Aardvarks and other company's desingns, and market them as their own, in which case Matrices will become great guns again.

I don't see SP OR DYE slaughtering millions of people, I don't see genocide. Although what they are doing is wrong, it is just about as wrong to compare a company threatening to sue to tyrants such as the aforementioned.

                              patent

If Dye doesn't own the patent to it and Gen-E still has the rights to it, this order from Dye holds no water whatsoever, even if it was legal in the first place. They can't make the call to disallow new items. This will just make them look like idiots. Now, they can disallow "DYE Matrix" accessories since they own that name.

If they kill the aftermarket market, they are making a mistake, it will severely hurt them since most people love marker customization.

Unfortunately, everyone said SP's lawsuits would ruin the company, and they seem to be doing just fine. I predict DYE will keep selling plenty of matrices. They bought it once the marker had taken off, so now the reputation alone will sustain sales, regardless of the issues not cropping up with them, or DYE's strongarm tactics.

Im just happy that I no longer even need to think about buying one. Thats one gun off my list.
