AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
Not sure what you are getting at. Are you implying that they will need to buy DYE's gun, including bolt and all, before they even buy an aftermarket kit? If so, then yes. However, there are plenty of old matrices still out there, and chances are their owners were NOT going to be looking to buy a DYE bolt when the time came to change out their current one. So now DYE can capture all of the aftermarket upgrades.
gen-e and all the other companys making matrix bolts and or / parts wouldnt allow dye to do this because dye does not own or produce the matrix gen e still does all the manufacturing and promotion dye just has there own version of the matrix ie (free flow, trauma, toxic, demonic, ardvark.)
they cannot stop aftermarket products from being relased because they cannot impead on technology if they did that the they would loose there rights and pattent use.
The major difference between SP and DYE is that SP wouldn't didn't shoot themselves in the foot.
Right now, there are plenty of other guns that offer just as good if not better performance than the matrix does/can/will. Thus, people will simple not bother with a gun that is limited in it's customization.
For instance, Evolve has already said something to the effect of "Way to go DYE. We're no longer focusing on the Matrix anymore. We see more potential(and business) in the 03 shocker. Good luck selling your newly recrowned Gashog." Smart Parts really hasn't done what DYE has. Smart Parts allows it's competition to exsist, just under it's own rules. DYE refuses to coexsist, and as well all know, all environments work on a system of competition. Any changes made in this result in a failure of the environment and ultimate extinction of the species in Matrix land.
What does this mean? The matrix has the potential of being killed by this.
lol, IF dye could even do this, it would be a horrible move. I know I would never touch a matrix with dye parts on it, maybe a dye LPR, but that's it. I'd much rather aardvark, freeflow, or evolve, but especially aardvark with their new slam bolt. But anyway, I know I'd never buy another matrix if i couldn't get an aftermarket bolt.
Red to Black Ironman Intimidator
Demon UL Matrix Dust Red TEAM BACKDRAFT
Broken Matrix or DM4? Send it to me, I'll fix it, just pay $10 + shipping + parts.
Theyve already done it. Aardvark has stated that they will not waste 1000s of dollars fighting it, and will instead focus their efforts on the 03 shocker and other guns. They claim they will still make the slam bolt, but time will tell.
communist bastards, soon they are going to attack Poland [those other companies] and then France and the U.S. will come in for the rescue! [AGD and BE (BE being france)]
come on i just learned this... may as well put it to good use in an analogy
How the hell can you compare DYE to Hitler? That is th dumbest thing I have ever heard.
Looks like this is all a snowball effect from SP. My geuss is that when Dye settled with SP that they had to agree to pay the liscensing fee (How much? We may never know...) and possibly a certain percentage from every unit sold. They have to make up for it in other places...and EVEN if this whole SP thing didn't happen...I wouldn't blame Dye one bit. They are protecting their investment, pure and simple. People seem to forget that these are businesses and their goal is to make a profit. I geuss the real issue here is...would you rather have a market of electros with upgrades only made by their manufacturer, or would you rather get to choose from smart parts or smart parts? Maybe im on crack...but that is my personal opinion.
I think its crap. DYE makes inferior parts, and is attempting to remedy it by eliminating the competition, rather than producing better parts. And they are doing it by bullying small compaines that cannot afford to fight DYE. If this sort of behavior is what you like, then by all means continue to justify it and accept it. I, for one, will vote with my checkbook.
I agree with marker companies licensing companies to do aftermarket parts. This prevents companies from releasing inferior items that hurt the rep of the marker producer. ANS produced some real crap for AGD and few others would which resulted in the limited market for AGD aftermarket items that existed up until recently. WGP has a good setup but notice how other non-WGP approved items exist? Bud couldn't fight it and the way it works is there were "cocker" bodies and the others like AKA's merlin. But accessories are available. The most Dye should be able to do is cancel the warranty for any gun with aftermarket parts on it that are not licensed parts. However, they are using this in a different fashion and it's wrong.
I think it's really lame..and if Dye is mad that they get guns sent in for warranty with Aardvark parts...just tell people they won't warranty the gun with the aftermarket parts in them. Just like with cars...Ford/GM/etc need to prove that my aftermarket intake is the reason why my brakes went out and can't just deny my warranty because of the presence of aftermarket parts..that is the law...it's a smokescreen...do they have the right..legally..yes...but are they doing it to be jerks...yeah...unless they want to come out with their own bolt kit...go right ahead..because the Evolve smokes the bejeezus out of the Image kit...
Communists? Your stupidly ironic comment made me smirk. Dye is putting small buisness out... If this were a comunist country, you would benefit in this situation because there wouldnt be NO huge capitalistic companies buying out small buisnesses with the sole purpose of gaining revenue. Communism isnt always bad... when it first starts anyway.
anyway, thank god for AGD's professional buisness etiquette...
Neither Hitler nor Mussolini were Communists. The word NAZI is a german acronym for National Socialist German Worker's Party; however, the modern idea of socialism, such as that implemented in Sweden, is very different.
Joseph Stalin was a Communist - the Bolshevik regime operated under a perverted sense of the Communist Manifesto.
Also, I don't know about any possible connections that you have with Jewish people, but we find it quite offensive when small things such as DYE's litigation pertaining to the production of aftermarket bolts is likened to those in the league of Hitler.
