Yes, you are saying something about the ugly and unsightly ones. In fact, thats practically the only thing you have been talking about, which is why the subject of my post is what it was. You only mentioned it vaguely when you posted the pics, and the majority of your problem was centered around ugly things. Maybe if you decided to post the correct subject matter as you said I missed completely, there wouldnt be any problem. But your coming across all wrong if thats the case

Sig images are once again OUT OF CONTROL. While this usually doesn't bother me, the latest rash of HUGE sigs ARE TRASH effectivly making it a "rash of trash" (TM). Poor quality pics of guns, dogs, ppl, photo shop stuff from ppl that should touch the freaking program and well 2 page essays about who gives a flying cammel but you obviously feel the need to brag about it. Which brings me to point

The the "brings me to point" point just implies that there are more crappy pics, not bigger ones, more of them, nothing like that

while some of these don't violate the sig rules, they are good examples of BAD photo shoping AND combined with the rest of their sigs, they ARE wrong

Thats the only thing where you mention anything about the actual rules being broken, and the first thing you mention is how bad they look. And you dont go into any detail about the pics (until you responded to my post), so no one actually would know what you are talking about (like me)

Sorry if I didn't totaly understand you from the start, but I dont think you were as clear as you should have been if thats what you really wanted to say.

Leave the guys/girls alone that don't have the "skills" in photoshop...they will get better with time, thats like saying you can't post a question on this forum 'cos you are a newb, come back when you have learnt some more
There have been several people asking for a signature to be designed for them and as some will have noticed the main signature makers have dissapeared from the boards...I have made and altered a couple for some of the users on here and to be honest I could do better but for now they suffice plus the requests that some users have for their signature pics are a little complex to say the least. The steps to make a signature are reasonably complex and the more you try to cram in the worse then tend to look but when less is more is realised then the signature pics will improve. Oh as we are now on the second page I will allow my signature to show but as I said before any further posts per page will not have my signature pic.....post whores note the online manners of NOT posting your signature pic everytime !

Also, why don't we just switch to avatars? 60x60 under 10,000 bytes, same as pbr, and say sig length should be 12-18 lines and suggest that people use size 1 for their font.

Yes I agree with the sig issue, but i understand how hard it is for just a few mods to control so many people. But about the banners, I honestly dont think anyone has the right to complain. This forum is FREE, paid for by AGD. I mean it is great that they provide this great forum for us. If AGD wnats to advertise a little bit on something that they are paying for, fine. Would u rather have to scroll down some every thread, or pay every month to belong to this great forum. So what I am trying to say is STOP COMPLAINING IT IS FREE.

Ok here it is, I could care less about the banners, they are there, I see them, I move on.

As for the sig images... they should be within the rules, but god please don't make us do away with the ugly ones.

If we said you had to be good at something (like photoshop) to use it or do it, I would be soo screwed.

I, for one, think the sigs should stay (of course I would ). They should be enforced, tho.

CPhilip- you said that in most cases the offending sig's owner was unaware of the rules in the first place, right?
One thing I noticed on PBN: In some of their forums and threads, they have the rules listed up top before you actually get to the content. You could do that, or you could put a link to the rules next to the field in which you actually type your sig. That way, people will at least know that there are rules and be more likely to check them out.

I think the current sig rules are just fine. As SHartley mentioned before, all we need to do is enforce them.

I dont mind banners, after all this whole site is AGD... Just make them long and thin, then center them. They'll look fine that way.

3.) IF all these poor 56k guys were gripping then I don't see why they aren't griping now since there is roughly twice as much junk they have to go threw even AFTER the pic hosting was taken away ( because we all know it's not a hosting problem ).

Now I know this is a MAJOR gripe here, and I want to point out that I still consider AO a privilege but if you're gonna lie, get slopy, be selective about enforcing rules, at least don't make it so obvious that everyone can tell and have a reason to gripe about.

AND if your gonna gripe, have a plan how to make it better so:

1.) take sig pics away compleatly, or at least take code away so ppl can't link to them:
there are too many morons that don't read the rules obviously and the poor mods are having a hard time controlling the inherited PBN crowd that they don't have time to PM everyone one about the sig rules.

2.) Turn pic hosting on or off, or just say, we are running tests on bandwidth or something. Don't make us believe that AGD invented a time machine and give us a date when the "problem" will be resolved.

3.) CHANGE the freaking 1/4 sore eye and use a standart banner size in a centered format so we don't have to scroll down 1/2 to read the first reply to every thread.

I hope no one is offened by this I guess it is a tinnie tiney bit direct, but it's not meant to be degrading
