I know it sounds rediculous but Im trying to sell my gun to a kid I know that is vegan and he wont buy it unless he is assured that paintballs dont contain fish oil or other byproducts of animals ... anyone?

Even Advantage might not be vegan-friendly.
Gelatin, used by most paintball manufacturers, is used for the shell.
Some food colorings are also not vegan friendly.
Wax is also used as a fill thickener.Comment

This guy is not just a Vegan if he is concerned about this. He is not going to eat them. I know many Vegans that use animal products. They just do not eat them. What ya got here is an Animal Rightist. Not a dietary thing at all.

Well fish aren't killed strictly for their oil. Fish oil, by and large, is a byproduct of processing fish for their meat.Shoot it like you stole it!

The gelatin shell of all paintballs except for RPS Advantage (which is cellulose- vegetable fiber- based) comes from the rendering of animal bone, hooves and horns.
I did hear a rumor that some cheap grades of paintballs, notably older Brass Eagle stuff, used fish oils as a liquid base, instead of the glycol base most use today.
That may still be the case, I don't know.
Tell him his only choice is to use Advantage. And, of course, to try really hard not to get hit by anyone not using Advantage.

ha wow thanks for the replys, he is a rather extreem person and is infact an Animal Rights Activist but for the most part hes not one to yell if I eat a hamburger aroundhim ... I once tricked him into eating a non-tofu creamchease bagel and he flipped out on meComment
