Wow, someone was able to get a Spyder and an Intimidator to breed!
New O3 Paintmarker, First Impressions?

First impression is that it is a Dragun gun, rather than Odyssey.
AND it looks ugly... nice that its small.... but it also seems to lack quality. They should have avoided that quick release bolt and those external airlines. I just don't like the idea of that puch-pin bolt.
Did AGD have anything to do with that gun? I do remember Odyssey and AGD had some sort of relationship, such as the Halo and roller trigger, but I dunno if it was a more of AGD helping them out or what. And besides, whats this sudden interest on behalf of Tom Kaye, I mean, he has rarely asked for first impressions on other, and in most cases, better gun designs. Maybe AGD is hiding something.
hehehehe
AGD edit: We had NOTHING to do with this gun. Heck I found out about it when you did! I gave them the same advise I give everyone here.Last edited by AGD; 02-20-2004, 10:29 PM.I wish I wasn't broke....Comment

It definitely has the Dragun look--the styling is quite similar to the DragunFly. Personally, I think that's a mistake. I'm assuming this is to be OGI's flagship marker. If so, I'd have tried to abandon the previous styling cues in an attempt to reinforce the new brand.
The external air lines are a turn-off, as are the ugly grips. And what's with the pointy thing on the bolt?
Past that, I have to wonder where they're going to position this. I'm assuming it's based on their The One kit; how are they going to differentiate from the existing markers that share that basic design (Timmies, Bushmasters, etc) and have been around longer?Comment

Hey Guys,
I figured that I should pipe in here, since I'm sponsored by OGI. The 2004 marker series is going to ROCK!
The '03 is set to take the mid-ranged market by storm! Consistent recharge up to 27 balls per second, beautiful trigger pull and a great price
erformance ratio. Eyes - well, you know what eyes do. The operating pressure in the marker is 180psi!
This is a marker that needed to be made - a viable alternative to the Intimidator/Impulse market. With upgraded ONE performance, this marker is set to kick butt. Of course, it's all about the player behind the trigger.
On that topic, the new 2004 TES is amazing! Take the 2003 TES, overhaul the anodizing job, throw in a clamping feedneck, sticky grips and an upgraded board with multiple modes and a tournament lock - the TES has already begun to blow away the low-end market by offering low prices with mid-ranged performance.
Sorry to sound like an advertisement, but I'm psyched for the new 2004 series!Comment

Okay, so it sounds like the tangible differences are that the trigger feels different, and the recharge rate is decent, perhaps even better than previous designs. It also sounds like OGI is going the price differentiation route. What's the MSRP on these things?

Hey Spantol, Glad you asked.
The 2004 O3 is going to be priced at around $550 or so, and the 2004 TES is going to be priced at around $250-300.

Re: hmmm
My guess--it's an extension to the points he's been making in other threads. What we have here is a brand new gun that in all likelihood no one on this board has had first-hand experience with--any "first impressions" we come up with can only be based on looks, assumptions, and marketing.

It simply amounts to a BKO nothing more than a glorfied BKO
Incase anyone doesn't realize it the ONE kit isn't fully pneumatic like an Angel, Impulse, Timmies, etc. It uses a 1one way solenoid to push the hammer with air preassure but recocks using a spring. Pretty much a blow back in reverse. This is the same way a BKO works
Angels, Impulses, Timmies, etc use a 2way solenoid to push the hammer with air and recock it with air.
Personally I see this as a partial marketing ploy. They can push more one kits by saying our top of the line marker which is just as good as a Timmy or an Angel uses a ONE kit, now your marker can be just as good for $150...
Anyhow if this is a near production marker it doesn't look like they put much effort into it.
