This was supposed to be a FUN day to play some ball, then sit around drinking some beer and BSing about "old war stories".....

Nitehawk agreed his actions where inappropriate. Should Jeremy have covered him up? Yes. There were mistakes made on both sides and I am sure both parties would change things if they could. Since they can't, can we drop it and get back to talking about my incredible pballing skills?

What nightHawk has been trying to say is that the it was a lousy situation, that he did NOT do the right thing. He, in not way shape or form was trying to condone shooting refs.

I've read this thread the entire way through.

To Mel/Pbx/BlackCell/day/Riotz - I hope you can settle something. I'm not in the arguement, so i will not get involved.

To Nighthawk and Movie Guy-
What in the world are you two thinking right now? Under no circumstances should a player shoot a ref. Never, let me repeat that, never.
Also, Movie Guy - how assanine is the idea that he was "marking" him for later use? Are you a complete idiot?
If nighthawk was as smart as he thinks he is, automatically he should have raised his marker in the air and walked off the field.
Paintball is a dangerous sport at times. Deal with it. Get off the field when you are hit. If he was "dazed", that does not mean he could not have raised his marker and atleast walked to the side of the field. I'm sure many of us have been shot in the head before.. and most of us have gotten bunkered and shot in the head near point blank range. To any paintballer, the first act you should take after being hit is to raise ur marker and walk off the field.
I have always lived by a phrase that hasn't let me down yet. If you or anyone else has a problem with what someone or a group of people are doing, then bring it up. Adresse the problem, so that it can be hopefully solved without further complications.
I will state it again. By no means should a player EVER shoot a ref.
Dead Cell was reffing voluntarily, and frankly, from what i saw, they didn't do a bad job at all. As to the notion that there was biased reffing? Get a life please. This was a friendly event, and they knew that.
ALL refs did an excellent job. BlackCell/DeadCell and anyone else who reffed, kudos to you.
This was another fun event, and I hope there is another one soon to come.

Dude, I'm willing to chalk it up to, hot day, heated tempers, miscomunication... what ever. But I cant live with people defending bad choices after the fact. Shooting a ref is dead wrong. Maybe you should attempt to keep your cool next time, and Deadcell wont step anywhere near a feild which we plan to play on.

We unfairly got called sandbaggers all day. Thats not cool. Last year we got spanked left and right at AONJ 2. We just wanted to have fun Saturday. We had no other intensions.

Thordic- Thanks man. You handed us most of our spankings last year.

Hold on guys, only Nighthawk know how dazed he was and whether he was able to walk off the field at that second. It was his choice to sit there and recover the moment and therefore he takes responsibility for for whatever happens during normal course of play. He knows he's sitting out there where he could be shot. Now, apparently he raised his hand to show he was out, was sitting there in the least threatening manner possible, and wasn't activily moving or dodging or otherwise playing at that point (so most people probably wounldn't take a shot at that point, some I'm sure, but I'd call it a day at seeing that).

For a ref to tell players to blast a guy that has already stated he's injured is just inexcusable. It's dangereous and it shows a certain lack of respect for the player's safety and for good sportsmanship. There is no excuse for that.

But, Nighthawk should not have used his gun to get revenge on the ref. I think that at no point should anyone use his paintball gun as a means of physical confrontation. Show some respect for what it is and use it properly. Now, if Nighthawk felt that the ref's statement was sufficient cause to warrant any kind of physical assault he should have punched the guy. That's the proper way to initiate physical violence, not with a paintball gun.

And to whoever said that Rodney King was a wise man.....

I thought he quit playing after the "incident". I didn't see him on the field after that. Maybe rec ball, but I didn't notice that.
