How do you keep your gear safe at the field?

i don't have the luxery of a car.
a hiding place...am i suppose to stuff all my gear inside of a air bunker?

My take on this would be... travel light. If you don't want it stolen, don't bring it in the first place. Bring your primary and some parts that you might need. Probably wouldn't work for your paint protection though. If your primary is so unreliable as to make this unfeasible... perhaps you should consider a different primary

As far as your friends... you lend them the gun, it's their responsibility to keep track of it.

Fields should offer lockers of some sort as a perk for people who pay to be 'members' (huh huh I said 'member').




I'd go for the pink paint trap coupled with an alarm system so loud as to disorient the thief as well as draw attention to him. And a bear trap. With some cheese on it.




Either that, or cover all your belongings with fecal matter. The scorched earth method, as I like to call it.

ok i got a idea go to cabelas and get a game camera takes pictures of move ment and hide it in your tent if at a scenario lay a ghille rag over it make sure lens can see.

pay a kid like 20 dollaz to watch it and give him a 21" hammerhead to wack with or 18 and/or a airsoft pistol only 20$ and give him the motto aim low and watch him HO HO HO

When you get to the scenario you will find that some people don't go out in the field. Generally some moms , wives , freinds just there for the party and whatnot. Get to know the people around you is a good idea. Pay attention to the faces in camp the first night. Have one member of your group go back to camp on regular , but random intervals. Keep your eyes open for people lurking around who you don't recognize from camp. Its very rare for someone attending an event to be the one stealing gear.

Definately get some type of lockbox or bag. Take a big cable,attach all the equpment bags and boxes together,then run the whole contraption through a cinder block. As stated before the best thing is to travel light in the first place. Make each friend borrowing your equipment responsible for its safekeeping.

DO NOT get one of those barrel style combination locks and chain . They are incredibly easy to pick. The best thing is a wafer lock like what is used at storage buildings. Too thick to be cut easily and impossible to pick. Stranded cable is better than chain.

Just remeber (most) theives will look for whats easy to take. Things that are just laying around in the open unattended.

I have been to several scenarios and thankfully have never run into a problem. Hope your experiance is likewise.

Bring everthing with you on a pack-mule, but make sure the mule has goggles.

Buddy system + lock box/car is 99.99% effective.


The universal punishment for stealing paintball stuff is convert the $ amount of stuff stolen in to paint and then that paint will be shot at the person naked at a range of about 25'

yeah, i had my e-99 stolen at the field, its a real bad experience/feeling, it made me get sick of pball and quit for like 3 months, i would see if someone would let you use their car, or the rubbermaid box is good

I have never had a problem with Doobie's and my gear. We usually do the neighborhood watch thing when we're at scenario games. Try not to draw too much attention to your tent by the caution tape, signs, or anything else (wouldn't that make a thief really curious). Make sure your tent is in the shade to keep your paint/gear cool. The lock box sounds like a good idea, but to me it would just be a challenge to someone. Good luck and most of all do what makes you feel comfortable....so you can pay more attention to the important things--like having an awesome time

Best idea is the lock box with cable and lock. No tree, no car no problem. I know that I wouldn't mind if someone asked me to lock their gear to my car. I just tell them to lock it to the rear bumper so I won't drive over it when I drive away with it still attached.

rubbermaid tub(get as many as you need and twice as many padlocks, drills a hole in each handle and padlock it then bike lock it so something stationary.

If I am at the field I work at I keep my stuff away from where the public can go. If not I make sure there is always someone watching my stuff. I get very anal about this kind of stuff becasue I used to get things stolen all the time at other fields.

hmm....well all the ideas work but there are just some times that you can't watch everything.
today was by far my worst experiance on a paintball field ever.

1. my digital camera was accidently chucked in a fire
2. someone stole my profiler

the profiler were sitting next to my tent but lets just say i can't keep track of everything when there are 15-20 guys partying around my fire. and my camera was sitting on a stack of newspaper so it was most likely an accident.

Now...it is very rare that you see someone with blue profilers at a paintball field. so when you do see one please check it for me. there was a sticker on it that said SUICIDAL SNYPER on the top. it could be gone but maybe the guy is an idiot. if that doesn't work, the lense of my profiler is stained yellow at the bottom. the tag has been cut off and is stained pink, and the foam lining on the lense in the upper left side is stained pink.
