With so many good paintball companies out there all competing for the most BPS or best "eye" or lightest, or whatever... They have lost fosus on what these guns are actually shooting... THE PAINT... paint today is fairly expensive... feild paint is like 55 bucks wich makes me play paintball less each month... If companies were to stop workin on the best guns and start working on better/cheaper paint i suspect they would make loads more money if they could find a way to do this because paint is always in demand and would probably bring in more funds than the guns... people only need 1 gun (unless your a rich spoild little brat who has his parents buy their gun(s) ) but you aways need paint for everytime you play with your gun... this topis is touched upon here but I thought I would bring it into its own thread ... as you might see at least a few people are playing paintball less and less because of the paint money... my advice... make cheaper paint and stop making better (more expensive, I might add) guns...
Guns are good... work on paint...

The paint is cheap. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see it go slightly higher in the next few years.
Now, if you're talking quality, then you have a valid argument. Without totally scrapping what we have now, I'm not really sure if the quality can be improved much. One of the biggest things holding it back is directly tied to impact speeds, which is a safety element, and therefore not likely to be changed.

Paint is really not cheap.
but I doubt the companies will loose all their money by making it cheaper. They know everyone has to buy it, so why make it cheap? My Stuff For Sale!

Paint IS cheaper. You mush have just started playing paintball to not know that paint used to be over $100 a case and pretty bad quality.
Like any sport or hobby if you can't afford it then you shouldn't be playing.

If you knew anything about how sales work, you'd know paint is cheap!
Consider there are generally three people that need to make money off of that case of paint:
Manufacturer
Wholesaler
Field Owner.
SHOOT LESS PAINT. Paintball doesn't have to be expensive, you make it that way.

IMO i think the more companies that start producing diferent paint will competatively drive the prices down. i think 30-40 bucks for decent everyday usage paint is decent, sure your going to spend more on tourny day for the good stuff, but the need for inexpensive everyday paint is going up.

Actually if you think about how many papers he has to deliver it's a fortune.

Your wrong on the markers - first off I expect that there is decent profit in them, it may cost a bit more to make a DM4 than it does an Impulse, but not $800 more. When we went to Chicago those of us that bougt new markers did nto do it because we were spoled little brats who have their parents buy their guns. We did it because we all have jobs, and should we want a new marker we can buy it. We're going to shoot paint, regardless of the cost (in reason) and companies can make better profit on a marker. Yes I only need 1 gun... but what about an Angel to dissassemble and see how it works, or a Timmy, or a Sydarm, or
yeh I love my mag, but sometimes its fun to have other things to toy with.

Yeah, what he said...
I played with my Sniper II today--18 elims (2 surrenders) and about 300 yellow Evil balls used.
I actually want to pay more for paint. But by paying more I want better quality, better weather tolerance, longer shelf life and consistency on par with bullets in the firearms industry.

Normally I'm a back player so to compensate I'm turning one of my spare cockers into a Sniper II.
Like JKR I'm all about good paint. Nothing beats playing pump shooting Ultimate Chronic. One ball, breaks, no wipes.

Which would make it what? $300 for 2000. So who says paint is more expensive now?
