    Last TSA regs I saw said that they had to be able to visually inspect the inside of the tank - which means reg has to be off. I could be wrong and/or it may not be enforced, but those are the regulations as I understand them.

        You are correct. It's no longer up to the airlines. The Feds want you to have the reg off the bottle. They have to be able to see inside. Don't get stuck at the airport.

                    well my mom called em and they said as long as it had gauges on it showing it was at 0 and not connected to my gun it was fine

                        You WILL be stuck at the airport if you go with that information. If you want to fly with it, take the reg off the tank. There should be a number of places at IAO that can put it back on.

                                                        If I were you though, I'd take the HP burst disc off that way you can have a equal flow of air in and out of the tank.
