A company is just an entitiy. The people behind the company are what is most important to me, as well as the continued ability to be able to use the products. In many of my other pursuits, such as music, I have seen companies come and go, but by in large the people stay the same. Things get moved around, and it is never nice to see something you have been supportive of fail, but, as long as I can still get use out of the product, and the people who brought me that product are content, or have simply gone into another facet, or started anew with a different company and continue bringing me quality products, I will be content as well.

I think we have already seen the "worst" with the departure of Tom. He was really what made AGD AGD, for better or for worse. His concepts and style are what made most AGD fans become dedicated to the company. Without him, AGD is not exactly the same company (again, for better or for worse). Things may be run the same, but things will inevitably be different. It is like when a luthier who hand-makes each one of his instruments quits and leaves all furhter designs and concepts to someone else. The instruments change, and even if they keep some of the same concepts, they loose the vibe, so to speak. Mags are still and will always be mags, but any future developments, sans Tom, will just be different (which could very well be a good thing).

If AGD dissolves, there will be some jobs lost, which is bad for those people, but they will move on, and some of them will probably stay in the industry. If AGD is gone, I am sure that there is enough unsold stock, and enough third-parties to keep us going with our Mags. Of course, there is the question of whether or not it will still be a mag once we replace many of the parts and change the functionality, such as with the mQ-valve.

So, if AGD dissolves, what have we really lost? I don't want to see it happen, as I have bought their products for over a decade and have been more than happy with what I have gotten. But, will we have really lost anything more? I am sure that there many other companies that can bring us the quality and service, and I am sure that it won't be the end of the world for the employees either. Other than for sentimental reasons, I don't think that the loss of AGD as a company would really impact the player. Those who have their mags will still most likely be able to use them for many years to come, and any new deisgns wouldn't have been Tom's anyhow, so really, what is the difference if there is a different name on the side, as long as it works well?

Yes, I think there is life after AGD.

I should add that it would probably change things up around here, of course, especially in the funding dept. But, things here are changing anyhow, and non-AGD goods already make up a lot of the conversation around here already.

The point would be if the company is making ends meet from somewhere and if they will stay in business.

This topic is fairly interesting.... Yesterday I went to a Paintball store in Southern California to get my tank filled and they commented on how good my RT-ULE Custom looked. Then one of the guys mentioned how AGD had gone out of business... I said no way because Airgun Designs still sells their goods online. He stated that Smart Parts had sued AGD for patent infringement and what not...

What is the possiblity that AGD is in the process of getting everything sold from their wherehouse before they go under? That would be the primary reason to keep this AO board up and running...

Either way, I'm really happy with gun...

Personally, I would start working on buying the patent rights and adding them to my up and coming product line.

If AGD shut down, you guys would move on. We all know the mag isnt going to cut it in todays paintball world. Most of the kids playing this game want speed from their guns, they want eyes, not some bolt modification. I have had bad experiences with mags since I got one for christmas many years ago. After 2 mags, I ditched them, switched over to timmys, thats where I shall reside until the day I can afford a new gun. Now alot of people will stay with their mags, till the end or they are tired of the lack of speed from them. The paintball business is changing and AGD just didnt go with the flow, they tried to lean towards the scenario players, scenarios arent as big as tourny ball. The NXL, NPPL, PSP are growing very fast and companies need to stay level with the tournys to provide players with what they need. When I attended cup, not ONE person or team I saw was shooting mags.

When I did have a mag, Tom and AGD were there standing behind their product like any good company should, I thank them.

I don't see why Zupe would buy the company just to close it shortly after. I really think he has a plan to keep the company going as long as possible.

Since we can all really see its just a matter of time, I think the bigger question here is where will we get our o-rings and parts from.

I could care less, I will never purchase another AGD marker again. I am stuck with what I have though and would like to keep them running in the future since they ain't going anywhere.

Don't worry. If the day should ever come that AGD goes out of business someone will pickup making oring kits for them. There are just too many out there not to make it semi profitable for an already established, or very small company.

As for Tournaments being bigger than Scenario. Open your eyes man. Scenario and big games have ALOT more people than any of the large tournaments. BUT...scenarios do not sell. These players keep the same gun for many years and no big rags cover them.

As long as AGD cuts their overhead, I can see them staying right where they are at. They have always been a small company.
