Reffing @ NPPL

Amen... playing at Chicago PSP I am tight against a "crackpipe" bunker. A ball sneaks through and I hear it crack, I turn my hopper and see an obvious big hit - ref 2 feet from me. I know I'm out, I know the rules say I'm out but I decide to take a chance. I look at him and ask "does that count" he tells me "I don't know". Another ref comes tearing down the sideline - I have not wiped thsi on the bunker or fired a shot, avoiding penalties. "does that cuont" "I don't know" "Can I play" "Sure" I was like so I went back to and had a great game.. coming off the field after being called a live player by a conferance of four refs and making no attempt to hide the hit - in fact making sure they knew about it my team captain looks at me "oh, you out?" "no" "wipe that off now..". Trained refs? Great idea.

This is something I don't like.


A ref shouldn't have to call player out, the player should know to call themselves out. The only reason refs SHOULD be needed is when there's a dispute.

i'm the creepy guy that likes to be in front of his bunker were he isn't expected

actually that field had a few holes like that

in belle fouche, i witnessed both bad calls and bad reffing. elpimpo, you were involed in one of these bad calls, you did what you needed to do, but another ref was not were he should have been. As a result, when myself and my teammates witnessed a player that had obvious hits on him bunker one of our own player, and you pulled our player, we got a little upset with you, mainly because you were the closest ref. The fact is, you did exactly what you were supposed to, poor reffing resulted in a bad call (btw, i'm sorry for yelling at you, even if you don't know who i am :)). The refs need to be able to work together to ensure that bad calls are not being made. especially so that it doesn't make people not want to come back.

as for getting hit more reffing rookie/amatuer events than bigger events, either the kiddies were blind firing, or yo stood up into their stream. i've got a scar from a crossfield shot reffing a cup event, and not a mark on me from an ametuer event.

there was a reason i didn't mention the emag. there is, however, no way your getting away with the roadtrip comment.
