I said you could get a very good price on the Viking. The MSRP on the site is way off what you would pay.
Also, if you could break a Viking, then you should get a medal because it is very hard to. The Viking is a lot like your 98, because all you ever have to do is put oil in the bottomline before play.
The Shocker and the Impulse can very easily be broken. After a day of play you have to take the either marker apart and lube it with grease.Comment

Yeah... the thing about Vikings is they really don't break much at all. They're the most dependable upper end gun you could possibly buy IMO.Comment

Well if ya dont mind looking at a Mech Mag i thinkin bout selling mine as i semi retiering from paint ball and dont really need the two markers again (And il never sell my Good old tippmann).
Theres ABSOLUTLY no scratches or anything on the gun and it is got a few upgrades and i could even sell it with a Nitro tank and a 12v Revi Hopper. All the specs are in my sig and it also has a level 10 that just needs to be installed (NO Chop Bolt). I can push 10bps on it as it stands and its easy to maintain and shoot very well. The guns actually pretty new as i only bought it NEW a few months ago as it was sitting on the shlef for a while. I have only put about 1000rnds thrugh it TOTAL (I Use the Tippy more) and kleened it and oiled it befor and after every day of play.
I looking for $450.
PM me if ya intrested.

Are Mags speedball worthy and woodball worthy too? Im really new to these guns, as stated before. What can you do as far as upgrades? Are they like Cockers and other guns where you can buy a whole new trigger frame to convert it from mech to electro?
Also, Ive noticed that they have a front grip because the hose from the ASA runs to the back of the gun. I cant decide if thats madness or one the greatest ideas ever. Makes the gun super short, me thinks. Maybe too short. But back to what I was going to ask, instead of that front grip, can I put a reg there, and have a macro hose run from the ASA to the reg, have the air run through the reg, out another hose and then into the rear of the gun? I want to get this operatintg super efficient, as to maximize shots per fill, and reduce ball breakage.
Whats the pull like one these guns? The garbage pre-pull on my 98 is horrid. Like, 3/8 inch, if not more. I want a super short pull (kind of why I want an electro) to maximize the ROF. Are there adjustable settings like on Angels and Timmys? Can I put any barrel I want on there, most likely a Freak with an All American tip.
Oh yeah, anyone got a link to the internals, or how one works? Im interested to see how the insides work, with the valve in the back and everything.Last edited by Faction_Zero; 02-18-2005, 09:24 PM.Comment

An E-mag with lightened trigger magnets and new software is pretty fast, pretty dependable and is suitable for speedball or woodsball.
But in general, anything that works for speedball works for woodsball. And these days I have a hard time recommending a mag.

Well i recomend you the ION or the BKO(Wait for the 2k5 model) they are at $300 i think and both are great markers.
For a impulse i recomend you a bushmaster since it is better and u get more for your money and the 2k5 model is gonna be at $450-550 and 20 billion times more sweeterand better than a impulse.
A mag well i can sell u my ULE classic.Comment

Well first off, welcome to the forums, hope your stay is enjoyable.Originally posted by Faction_ZeroNew to these forums, I was directed here by someone on model98.net.
Well, Im looking to buy a new marker in a few months, May or June. Im stuck between a new Impulse, used Shocker, and an Automag. I dont know too much about Mags, so Im coming here to be enlightened. What are the pros and cons to owning a Mag? Whats the maintanence like? Speed? Upgradability? Most importantly, price?
Have you checked out the new Ion?
Basically it will be the same size as the shocker, and the speed of the impulse, but only at $298. I have seen 100% good reviews so far except for 2 people who claim that their local shop had ALL of theirs break within minutes (*cough* sounds feasible) But other then that, i havent seen a poor one yet.
If that doesnt rock your socks, you might want to look into a b2k5 or something like that.
You might not want to go so "mainstream." I sure as hell wasnt planning on getting a bushie until someone gave one to me. It opened a whole new door of markers for me.
Basically im suggesting to check out the Ion, and the B2k5, couldnt hurt

I was thinking about an Ion, but I just cant trust that plastic yet. I know its fast and it operates at some stupid low pressure, but the plastic.
Oh yeah, whats the official website for Mags?Last edited by Faction_Zero; 02-19-2005, 10:57 AM.Comment

Ya know, an Ion isn't a bad idea. You can get it for $285, and have money left over for a nice hopper, tank, barrel system, and even some extras past that.
You don't have to trust the plastic....
1. It's not plastic, it's composite. Which is very tough stuff.
2. The gun is made of metal. The body is made of metal. It's just an outer composite shell.Comment

I think Im just going to get an Impulse. Start out with the basic one, get a tape worm, new bolt, blade trigger. Few months later, Vision. 68/4500 nitro for that. Egg with Z board, should be fine, no?Comment
